I have tried a search on this with no luck so apologies if it's been covered many times. :dopey:

My 53 plate eats sidelight and number plate bulbs, the capless 501 type.

Is there a recall on this i may have missed or can anyone suggest a possible fault. :holmes:

overcharging from the alternator / regular maybe?

Not sure this applies to capless bulbs, but are they being gripped properly by the bulbholders? I know that some V@*xh@!! models are endemic for this, and the cause is the bulbs "rattling" slighly so they don't get a steady feed, and are effectively being flashed off and on several times a second.
