Am I the only one?

Am I the only person to buy a Roomster?

I have never seen another one on the road, although Tesco Insurance tell me they have insured 6.

I've fittted an after market stereo using the skoda installation kit but the stereo will only come on when the ignition lights are on it this correct?

There doesn't appear to be a postion one like i'm used to on my other cars. e.g accessory power but no ignition lights.

Do other Skodas have same issue?

For the meant time I have poked around the fuse box and the fuse for the heated seats goes live if i gently turn the key midway.

Any one have any ideas?

Rob

Position one should be with the key in the lock, but not turned.

There are a few purchases mentioned in this thread - but not many!

I was talking to my local dealer recently about the Roomster, (not buying one, just chatting whilst picking my car up) and he was saying they have sold the 6 they had allocated to them for the year and have had to beg/borrow/steel from other dealerships as they had orders for at least 3 others.

Someone is buying them, I'll leave the last words though to my mom who, the first time she saw one, said "What is that ugly thing!"

Picked my 1.6 Roomster up this week. It wasn't meant to be here until Christmas so really pleased.

Oooo, photos please :)

Whats the 1.6 engine like?

Like a metally thing, with bits of plastic and wiring stuck to it:D

Seriously though, we looked at on as a replacement for my nicked Fabia, and the wife refused to sit in it:rofl:

Saw a metallic blue Roomster in Horwich the other week, but it was a demonstrator from Simpsons in Colne.

Did see a Sahara Beige one in Edinburgh too last weekend, going along Milton Road/Duddingston Crescent in the direction of the city.

I guess that 2 in the space of 200+ miles is lucky!!

Picking up a 1.4 roomster 2 on Thursday.

It's an ugly ****er.

wife has a cappucino 1.4 level 2, thinks its a great bus! can really stack the shopping in!

shame the stealer in the sw would not do a deal, got it in london! one in stock 2 weeks later on the drive

Hi, I am driving a Roomi 3 at present. They are becoming more common.

I have yet to see one on the road. :(

I have yet to see one on the road. :(

Likewise.... I did consider one when I got the Golf at the end of November, but the fact I hadn't yet seen one in an area which is well served with Skoda dealers sort of put me off - not that I don't like the look of them, its just I'd dread to be stuck with a car which I could never sell because 99% of the motoring population don't like them

I haven't seen one either , apart from the sillouette of one on a Transporter one dark morning when I was going to work!

Only one I have seen is the emergency doctors here in Eastbourne, all striped up with reflective stickers like a police car! (still looks rank).

They also have an Octy2, both supplied by caffyns (of ashford I presume as we dont have a Skoda dealer here).

I feel the same in Istanbul! ;)

Cheers

Hi, did long test drive on Roomster, which I had looked forward to seeing and driving with hope of replacing aging Fabia.

Sorry guys settled for a Fabia.

Roomster felt like a mini white van .........

I still love mine despite the sometimes negative comments on here. I think it depends on your lifestyle. I can get all 3 dogs in, the 6 foot teenagers are happy in the back & when my elderly parents need taking somewhere it is much easier for them to get in than the Fabia.

Only just run in but the 1.6 is doing over 40mpg already, not sure it will get up to the 50mpg we were getting from the 1.4 Fabia but we can try.

i've seen 2 Roomsters on the road in SW London, but my local dealer says they've received orders for 18! They've only been orderable from November, and I suppose there's some delay between order and delivery. It seemed to take a while for the Octavaia 2 to become quite a common sight.

A colleague of mine ordered hers before Xmas...Red metallic Roomster 3 TDi with black trim and roof rails. She gets it in March.

I think the roomster is the most ugly car Skoda ever made, and I own 1989 Rapid so I don't have much room to talk. Ne Fabia looks good though!

It the same from the A pillar forward

My sister-in-law ordered one last Sunday. She thinks the shape is the bees-knees and just great.

I've seen a number of them on the road in the Cannock area since their launch and must admit, the more I see, the more appealing the shape becomes.

I guess it's not going to raise the pulse of the sporty VRS owners, but I can see it becoming a hit with the "shall we say" more mature Skoda driver. Oh and regards the space behind you - you would need to tow a caravan to compete with this.

I think that despite it's quircky shape - it's gonna be a winner.

just got mine on order a roomster 3 1.9,will be sad to see my 54 plate fabia vrs go,but

its just not big enough for the family now and the roomster for the money has every thing for a few thousand less than other makes do
