If we are talking about good scenery roads in Scotland, Applecross road must be mentioned. Great for some nice pics of car with hairpin corners.

that is the applecross road we are talking about:).....its just a wee bit further along the coast:).....dornoch?!!....easy road!!.....of course am only messing about a drive that far up north if he's only there for a day ish:).......but great if you have a few days:)

Likewise. My sensible suggestion for one day out based in Embra is to get a few miles out of town down an A road, then head off onto the whites.

Well the plan is to head up early tuesday. Spend the day round the city, back to the marriot hotel (think its about 7 miles from the city). following day back to the city for anything we missed then head off home. Not in a rush to get home so was thinking about a drive out before we head home. I take it get dark early?

Just started looking at some of the routes. Think I'll need the 2 day just for driving (one day in my life maybe).

Heading souh of endinburgh sounds a better option for me.

How long will the A7 from Carlise to edinburgh take? It looks a good option.
