Still can't decide!

Hi everyone,

Have been struggling to make my mind up between a superb or an A6. Went to look at a 53 plate 1.9 tdi a6 today. Although it was a nice looking car, I'm not sure I can bring my self to spend nearly

You may need to be more specific - is it the 2.5 or 1.9 TDi you're most interested in? What's your max budget? Anything you don't want to live without on this new motor?

Steve

Superb........BUY IT NOW .....have had one for 15,000 miles, just over a year, and although it's the classic it has loads of toys, 1.9 pd130 engine has more than enough power and can be chipped to 180 bhp with ease, really at home on the motorway and will waft along all day eating up miles in comfort....and doing 50 + mpg as well .....test drive one.....you won't be dissapointed

Buying a used Audi is fine - however as you've already said there will be quite high mileage and showing signs of wear.

On the other hand if you go for a Super for not much more money your going to get a mega spec and have the benefit of the warranty and the fact that Skoda running costs will be less than Audi.

Yes sorry should of said. Started off looking at just 1.9's but now seeing some of the deals around the 2.5 is a very tempting option. Do about 80,000 miles a year and would like to do that in comfort.

I notice some negative things on here about the 2.0 tdi so avoiding that one.

Budget isn't a problem but just want to make sure I get as much car as possible for my money.

Ben.

well the Superb is the 1 to go for without doubt - dont know of another car offering so much for the money. And for 80,000mls a year you wont find many others that offer the comfort of the Suprb either

I was in a quandary about the 1.9 or the 2.5 diesels. In the end the extra economy and simplicity of the 4 cyl engine won me over (I'd come from a V6Omega and everything to do with that engine was expensive and complex). I test drove a 1.9 and was surprised by just how much poke the thing has, even if it less refined than the V6 - which for my money is the only down side.

Hi everyone,

I keep looking at some of the deals available on the superbs and can't help thinking what a bargain they are.

The latest one I'v found is this

New 2006 2.5 tdi Comfort (although new, I assume NOT the latest spec)

Leather interior,

17 inch alloys.

Save yourself a whole dosh of money - buy a low mileage car.

Years ago I bought a 1 yr old Cavalier 1.7TD for taxiing from a Hertz Rental agency. Car had done 20,000 miles and I paid

Did a quick Autotrader search (register - it's free & enables better search options.

Just one example :-

2004 54 Reg SKODA SUPERB 2.5 V6 TDI 160 Bhp Comfort (trade)

Addendum

With the money saved get yourself a Talex speed camera & danger alert system. Just bought one.

I would have loved a 1.9TDi but thoroughly love my Superb 2.5

I paid

I remeber being horrified at finding out a cambelt change is around

Yep from the dealer...not that Id get it done there
