1.8 TFSi - Will We Get It??

Featured Replies

I see Audi have a 160hp 1.8 TFSi for the A3 released in January.

Wonder if this would sit nicely in a Fabia??

Isn't that bigger but lower powered than the 1.4 TFSi 170 unit in the Golf GT? How does that work?

J

Edit: I'm an idiot. That says T*F*Si, and hence this is just a step down from the 2.0 TFSi 200PS/240PS unit. I was thinking of the TSi.

Yes it is larger in Cubic Capacity but the 1.4 has both a supercharger and turbocharger hance the greater power output.

or just a gentle map where the engine has much more potential like the 150bhp 1.8T did.

you on about the 1.8 20v Turbo? currently in the new Polo GTI?

It's not actually an FSI lump, VAG had to get rid of the 5th valve to house the FSI injectors.

Another brilliant marketing lie from VAG :)

They never put an old 1.8T in the Fabia before, so I doubt it.

The 1.8TFSI is fitted to the new Octavia in China, so it's in the Skoda range.

Doubt it will make the new Fabia though, that's getting the 1.4TSI in 125BHP and 170BHP eventually.

According to Skoda Uk the 1.8 TFSI will be replacing the 2.0 Fsi from June 2007
