Digital Camera's - Who can help me??

Featured Replies

I've had 2 Canon digital cameras in the recent past and had problems with both. I honestly dont rate Canon's after sale service at all......I'm sure I dont stand alone on that score either.:thumbdwn:

That's a pity, I really am quite taken with that Ixus 60.

We have an old Ixus APS which is topline.

You really should go and have a look at a Z1 (Pictured above). They're tiny and imho, really good.

Here's a photo I took with it at a party during the summer. Very low light... I think the flash did a great job for its size. I was v.drunk when I took this too :)

The Z1 is on the list to go have a look at Josh.

Stu, we have just bought the mother-in Law a Pentax Optio M20 from Currys,

It's making me choke on my coffee, but I agree with the man from Dixons.

Thanks Dave I'll take a look at that one.

I have recently bought a Canon Ixus 850IS and it's brilliant. It has a wide angle lens which is great for indoor shots where you can't get far enough back to capture everything in! A great deal of the shots I've taken are at wide angle, I wouldn't buy a camera without it now!

The "IS" stands for Image Stabilisation and very effectively reduces camera shake. It has a view finder too, useful if you want to switch the display off. It's pretty small, certainly pocketable and the battery life is great too.

It's my 2nd Canon Ixus, I know others with them and not heard of any reliability issues with them.

My suggestion for what it's worth.............go Canon and go to Jessops....Only have Canon in the family..Ixus55, EOS350D and for movies DC95

As you can see i'm a bit of a Canon fan, very straight forward to use and for the Ixus 55 very small and pocket sized....Uses SD card.

Forgot to add, I got my Canon from amazon with free postage. Currently

Stu, I know it's a bit late now, but if you did want a Sony T9 or whatever, let me know ;)

Can you also get the DSC-H2 at an "interesting" price?

Thanks for all your help. I've passed all the info onto SWMBO so only tomorrow will tell.

I've just bought this. A bit early to give a detailed review (Its my xmas pressie, so only had a play before it got wrapped up) but the screen is amazing.

I got the Canon Ixus 60. :P :D

Really happy with it so far. There were a couple of 1gb cards in as well so I should have plenty of space.

A couple!

Well I'm afraid it's time to resurrect this old thread pretty much one year later.

Sadly my nice shiny 1 year old Ixus 60 bit the bullet during last nights festivities so now I find myself again looking for a new compact digital.

So any recomendations??

I'm interested in the Ixus 70 as it's similar to the Ixus 60.

Just Googled fer one

Cheapest here

Yes I came across that company but they didn't seem to have any reviews in the price search engines.

Jessops is cheapish, John Lewis a little more but would probably match Jessops. Amazon is not too bad either.

There is also the Ixus 75 which according to the Canon website seems to be the same spec.

Go for another Ixus Stu.

My 65 is still the best compact that ive ever had or if you want to push the boat out a bit have a look at the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX100

Panasonic DMC LX2, does everything, is small, and weighs next to nothing.

I have one in black and cannot fault it.
