S3 or R32 or GTi Edition30

Featured Replies

S4 is an option, but heavy on fuel and running costs

Evo magazine got a regular 23mpg out of their long termer and the 1st service cost

my dad has the S4 and tbh 23mpg would never happen unless doing bigger distances. but yeah t is capable of it none the less. combined mpg on the S4 is 21mpg as per audi uk website, the S3 is meant to be 31mpg

i would love the V8 tho :)

S3 - Without Doubt!!

GTi 30 aint a bad car either, just watch them rims..lol

Most of the reviews I've read on the S3 say that it's a bit crap to drive! Looks awesome though, But it's £26K for a std car, and if you know Audi and the options it's gonna be a £28-29K

Plus for that money you could have a new Audi TT! The 2.0TFi is meant to be even better than the 3.2DSG, you could have one of them for £27K

Or I'd buy the one of the last old shape S3's, and then give it to jabba with £5K and get a 350bhp M3 killer :)

ive heard many reviews on the S3, some ok some great, im watching the audi forums from people who own it and see what there views are, same with the R32, i guess comes down to personal taste.

TT is quite nice actually but only fwd with the 2.0TFSI :(

Id go for the S3 too , although I do not know much about the mkV based R32 (i take it that is the model you are interested in , not the mkIV?) and TBH Id rather have a standard 2.0T MkV GTI over the edition 30 , and spend the money on a bit of chippery instead.

Here are some piccys of R32 from work just to tease you...

i never did like the exhaust pipe exit of the new R32, looks too big and clumsy. it works on the clio but not the golf i feel, the exhausts are too large and too far apart, looks cheap and silly.

I'm not a fan of Golf Mk5 in any guise so that's 2 of the options discarded for me. I'd go with the S3 from the options you offer but would seriously consider the A3 2.0T Quattro S-Line.

Aye tis true, Spose you could always buy the 3.2 Quattro, then get onto the edition 38 forum and swap (plus cash) your R32 motor for a 2.0TFSi motor :D:rofl:
