just wondered what peoples views were on the above cars. im considering changing my car soon and im looking for somethings fairly quick. the new S3 being the fastest out of the bunch at 5.7sec to 60 but the others arent slow.

being honest a similar spec R32 is about the same price as the S3 :eek:

with less power and less easy to get extra power

yeah, has the V6 noise tho

the Edition 30 is maybe worth a look too as a cheaper more sensible option

Have you considered the RenaultSport Megane, the new 230bhp version that EVO Magazine thought was really good?

Great spec,tunable,and cheap,am sure i've read somewhere you can get them for £16K.

Comes with great Recaros aswell.

There is a video on the 'net somewhere with sabine reviewing a s3 vs r32.. and there really is naff all in it performance wize.. altho the s3 sounds crap and the r32 is nice and fruity

edit its HERE but you might need to get a grip on german..... me im just watching sabine drive :p

Ok so I am a bit biased, but you will get addicted to the v6 noise, especially if u put a miltek or blueflame on it. I had mine for 4 years and if I could afford to run one again, I'd get another

Should I mention the downsides....? Well you will get to know your local shell garage very well, and being a V6 rather than a turbo, it doesn't feel as quick as you know it is. Also costly to tune as no simple remap available for more power like the S3. Also comfort went out of the window along with the suspension

yeah it seems great spec. i may well try it out. the only downside is i really dont like the look of the megan tho, but will see it in the metal 1st

S3 one and a half sec faster then R32 but really not worth worring about. only bennifit is the S3 has slightly better mpg

What about a A3 3.2 quattro... save yourself quite a wad of cash... or buy a supercharger to go with it

yeah they are quick, just dont handle aswell out the box

Ummm I'd go for the R32 because it looks 10 times better than the Audi, which i dont like...

but what about havin another option in the list? the New Seat Leon Cupra R?, it loks very good, interior is nice, its got the same 2.0 TFSI with 247 BHP as the one in the S3.. but its FWD, 0-100 in 6.2 secs and up to 155 MPH Limited.. and its much cheaper than both the R32 and the S3, much cheaper i'd say

interior is horrid on cupra in my opinion tho. S3 is 265PS. would prefer 4wd hence rh 2 out of 3 suggestions

Go for the Megane in Liquid Yellow,they look absolutely stunning.

Spec one without the stickers though.

The Megane has all the right bits on it and EVO rated it very highly indeed.

Especially in the company they tested it.

And why go for the usual German suspects,get a bit of Va Va Voom in your life!!!

yeah i will definately go and see. i go for cars i like and very little depends on maker tbh so will have a look

What about that new black Impreza:rolleyes: ...something to do with the late Richard Burns:confused: ..RB320 or similar sounding name....maybe not visually appealing to some people (me included) but will obviously go some;)

a neighbour at the back of my house works at an Audi dealership , his current demo car is an S3 , i must admit it looks a bit anonymous/ordinary although i dont doubt that it goes well

i like the fact it doesnt look anything at all tbh
