Cheers M-03..

i shall certainly give them a shot next time im down that way.

So just to recap this thread...

the general consensus seem to think its a blown (or soft) damper..

i dont think it can be bushes because they are relatively new...

it could be a bottom-ball joint, or trackrod... i shall check that when i get chance to jack the car up.

The dealer said it needed new wishbones, bushes and a new ARB. could the ARB have any effect? and how can it get worn?

Might end up seeing you there, let me know if you're gonna be there on Saturday please as I am very likely to visit them that day :D

It probably wont be until feb now :o

My fabis vrs has always pulled to the left since mile #1.

:(

If you do go there, drop me a PM or IM and I'll see if I can make it there

I've had the Eibachs on for about 50k now and the dampers are getting replaced with the Koni FSDs, I wonder if mine were on their way out already or not, will see how different it drives I suppose :)

maybe someone else should have a drive first to make sure im not just going mad.. any volunteers faboka? ;):D

How about swapping cars and taking a drive?

I have a vibration through my wheel but I put that down to crap balancing of the tyres

I had this issue after I moved my tyres around front to back. Had an alignment checked and still did it, so they swapped my tyres around and it sorted it.

I`m sorry to hear it sounds like you have a similar problem to me, it just wont drive straight at all. Service manager at dealership thinks it`s ok to drive about like I`m drunk or something as i`m all over the road over-compensating for loose and innaccurate steering, mostly and frightenly pulling into the right, against the camber too!!! good luck mate!! I hope yours gets fixed, think I`ll have to set mine on fire......as no-one wants to help....even if I offer cash they dont want to know????? NEVER EVER WILL I BUY ANY NEW IE POST 2002 OR SO V.A.G CAR.

Oh did I mention that the service manager was really trying my patience talking to me about utter crap "oh its your tread depth thats whats dragging the car to the right. this excuse was used after I`d given him £240 for an INSPECTION SERVICE" never ever again will I buy anything from "StAndrews" or Skoda until someone treats me like a customer.

Colin you seem to have too much negative camber, if it were my money I would say that the console is in the wrong place (ie too far toward the wheel) following the new bushes being fitted.

I can't find it on the German website but the American website states a million mile warranty if you think it is a shock absorber that has failed.

Well bout time for an update..

after the car went into Awesome again to get my brakes replaced and the OE suspension put back on (to cure the problem) the techies went thru the suspension components with a fine toothcomb..

Some of you may remember i have a bizzare "clank" coming from the transmission somewhere, that occours on taking up drive, changing gear and going on/off throttle.

It had been suggested it would either be, a cv joint/driveshaft or an engine mount.

Anyway Awesome found that the nut on the end of the NSF outer CV joint had come loose, so the cv joint/hub were loose.. something about the locking things being broken off, so the driveshaft was slowly unscrewing itself

It has been torqued back up for now, and i just need to book the car back in for it to be replaced...

This fixed my clanking, but the car was still wandering/shuddering on the motorway a bit...

They also mentioned that my tyres had worn in a funny way, front and rear... which is because of me running 215 profile tyres on the rims.. (Tyre technology was explained in simple terms to me yesterday) - big Kudos goes out to Tony @ south shore tyres... i can understand his reputation now ;)

I had my tyres replaced with proper 205/45 R16s yesterday, and the car is now as good as new :D:D:D:D - The steering is a bit Jiggly and feelsome, but thats almost certainly down to the powerflex/cupra bush-combo im running. but i can now let go of the wheel whilst moving and not die  (dont try this at home kids)

Only problems now: im back on std suspension :o:(:( and i urgently need a clutch :(:(:( - compounded by the fact i was out kicking a certain silver furby's head in last night... i want my suspension back, a decat and some G88s!!!:rofl:

So there ya go...

The saga of the wandering Furby is now solved.. all down to getting a decent pair of experienced eyes to check it over.

Im now tempted to get a uprated clutch and keep the car ;)
