After some answers really

Recommended Posts

Hi all

I purchased an octy 20v 180bhp vrs a fortnight ago, police spec. in white.

I havent received the manual yet,so a bit dumb with knowing what everything is and where in the car.

Q. The words ECP are lit up in amber colour near the centre of the rev countet. What does ECP stand for and should it be permanately illuminated while driving ????

Q. I am assuming it has a 6cd multi changer, would the multichanger be located in the boot ??????

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Daz

Do you mean ESP........

ESP: Electronic Stability Programme is

designed to stabilise the dynamic

handling response of the vehicle by

counteracting any tendency towards

oversteer or understeer. The ESP

constantly compares the actual

movement of the vehicle with

predetermined values and according

to the situation ESP reacts by braking

each wheel individually (according to

direction of slip) and automatically

adjusting the engine

EPC? The EPC (testing engine electronics) warning light fitted only to certain engines comes on for a few seconds when the ignition is switched on. If the warning light does not go off or comes on or flashes when driving, this indicates a fault in the engine electronics system. A program stored in the engine control unit makes it possible to continue driving with certain restrictions - contact a Skoda Dealer for professional assistance.

I have got problems with mine and am also seeking the answer of thread "EPC" that i launched yesterday.
Have you followed up on the suggestion by Lummox that it could be a faulty brake light switch? He really does give good advice! :)
