which exhaust

Featured Replies

right!!!! i'm looking for an exhaust any suggestions!!! i don't want antything too loud just a nice note when booting it but not boomy in the cabin

Im all for Blueflame, had a turbo back system with 100cel race cat a few weeks back and been very impressed. Noise is great but not ridiculous like some. Turbo spool up time is much quicker and low rev pulling much much stronger. Love it

how much and ware from mate!! what tail pipe does it have i'm after a twin rounded one ( oo )

Blueflame! or Pipewerx.com

Blueflame from Skelmerdale, have a word with Nigel at Blueflame and discuss which type of rear pipe you want, they can do a few different ones.

Had my turbo back with 100 cet sports cat on for quite a while and still love the sound of it.

Real quality product with lifetime warranty.

Yeah Blueflame in skelmersdale just off the M58. I opted to go for twin pipes and only cost 15 quid extra to get it changed. 550 notes all in :D

Quility is superb and staff helpfull. My only complaint would be the waiting room as everytime someone enters / exits the workshop (which is about 2 a minute by my calculations!) the door closes with an almighty bang :P . But thats small chickens when the work is excellent

HE wanted a quite xhaust not loud so you can exclude Blueflame

The only systems that you should touch is Miltec/Supersprint/Jetex If you want the better quality and not to loud.

I have the MILTEC cat pipe and Supersprint Racing mid/rear which only gets loudish above std noise above 3k revs and at 70 is as quiet as the original, these systems are very poular thru the rest of the vag group as they give the best gains and quality that the others cant touch

Blueflame on mine is not anywhere NEAR as loud as the Milltek - it does depend a lot on what combination you go for though, with/without cat, and what kinda back box etc?

My BF is pretty quiet, SWMBO didnt complain at all about any extra noise, which was in my case exactly what I was after :)

I've a Milltek cat and Supersprint system. Sounds good. Tailpipe is like original, but larger :D:D

Try the Devonutopia-Tuning exhaust system before you lay out major $$$ (hehehe).

What is it - chop the cat, lose the rear exhaust box. Get straight tube welded in - Find a chrome end that you like. Straight 2 1/4" tubing fore and aft.

SWMBO didn't notice any increase in noise - not at all boomy.

And the exhaust note inside is nice when booting it - from outside it sounds good had my brother-in-law do a fly-by (not a drive-by, he drives like that).

Better flow than any aftermarket system....

My 2p worth....

Cheers

***Not at all boomy thats not what most people or tuners say when comparing them

and better flow than any aftermarket MMMMMMM NOT

Hang on - 2 1/4" straight pipe versus (that gut-knotting word again!) going through say 2 1/2" pipe then the restriction of a 100-cel cat, and then that of a rear silencer (muffler). Which one would most people say is more free-flowing?

Boomy - If I was a tuner selling high-price exhausts (with their potential for profit), I would say the same thing too! SWMBO (who is a born critic! Bless her sweet cotton socks..) and I don't find it boomy, but one man's "not-boomy" might be another man's "boomy".

And no need for a Cat for the diesel MOT in UK, isn't that right?

Just saying try before you buy, to help a Briskodian save some funds...

Just trying to help here....

Cheers

Bas

A straight through job is definitely cheaper, and on a diesel you're basically after a straight pipe anyway :D

I got the full system BF at the time on a GB as the price was good, but probably best to meet up with someone who has the same car and one of your potential candidate systems fitted so you can make up your own mind :)

Everyone has their own preferences, and with 'noise' that is even more the case :)

Has anyone got any prices on these exhaust systems.

I have a resonated middle section made by Milltek for sale if your interested...... Pick up only

i think the best option is like you say try before you by it's going to be a few months before i buy anyway ,so when's the first nw meet then ?

Blueflame is the one I went for simply on tailpipe design, wanted something that wasn't in your face and chavvy.

The sound is sweet and not too loud, gives it a nice burble even with the original cat still on.

Both supersprint and Miltec both have non cat options so the answer is still No to the better flow rate.

Plus theres better profit in Bluflame / powerflow systems due to the boxes only really having one internal flow design rather than the main quality makes that have spent months perfecting designs on the rolling roads for each and every one of there exhausts for each application.

You just need to look at the best tuners in the uk to see that they only sell brand names and its for a reason e.g Star Performane sell MILTEC/S/sprint
