The kevlar clutches come from here.

They are a great bit of kit but must be bedded in properly. If you have just got a mild remap get a Helix or Sashs clutch, if you want to cut corners get just the drive disc and fit an OEM pressure plate. If you are fitting a new clutch you might as well fit an uprated one that you know will last then fit an OEM one which could quite easily start to slip again or will not hold if you decide to do more power modes to the engine. You are looking at a good

I'd better seriously consider the SMF then. I will be fitting a limited slip diff soon, so I kind of assume that indirectly provides access to the clutch system. :D

Yes but ill be fitting it myself and the supply price to buy a sachs clutch is excess of

As long as you don`t intend doing any more power mods just get a drive disc and fit an OEM pressure plate. OEM clutches are well known to slip on none remapped cars for a pastime so it`s up to you.The kevlar clutch you have to remove your clutch and send it to Kestral who modify your clutch and fit a kevlar disc which is then posted back to you to fit which is something you need to think about.

I have just had my VRS re-mapped + induction kit and immediately experienced clutch slip in 5th and 6th gear when planking it to the floor at low revs. The car has done 42k miles, however 40k miles of this has been covered on motorway with limited use / stress of the clutch. Ive got a friend in the motor business who is making enquiries with my local dealer about a replacement clutch under warranty. I know the dealer wont honour the warranty due to the re-map however there is no way I am told of detecting the re-map. Keep you posted

Until they drive it ;)

Simple answer is to treat it properly in the first place! What do you mean in low revs?

Ive had my clutch slip only a few times and that was when i was trying to boot it so revs around 2-2.5. Interestingly the last time was when i put the stock air filter back in and at about 80mph on the motorway. But i dont intend to change it until it happens more frequently. You do have to change your driving style and rev it a bit more. Dont ever floor it under 2k in high gears.

Err, warranty work on the clutch? would it not be classed as wearable item, like brake pads?
