7 Year Warranty!

Featured Replies

We hired a Kia Sedona on the way to Ireland a few years back. One of the best bigger cars you can buy for the price and the interior comfort and spec. Turbo diesel made it a joy to drive 'I obviously didn't drive it' but 7 people in the car and it shifted. Good stereo, looked neat too with a bonnet scoop. 7 people in the car, and still had space to relax. IMO. Fantastic car, at a good price.

Maybe Kia will cut the mustard and I will eat my words, but really!! Why would you get a Rio over a focus or a picanto over an aygo unless you are tighter than a nun's crack when it comes to money?

Why buy a Fabia over a Polo or an Octavia over an A3 unless you are tighter than a etc, etc, etc.....

Is the lunch box comment and being souless cars due to your experience on ownership?

No, it is more to do with a massive cooperation with a car department.

They are cheep and cheerless cars for people with even less money than imagination imho.

Why don't you drive the lastest sporting Perodua then Aaron?

How hard is it exactly not design a bus. The only requirements for the car is that you are not sat up the nose of the person behind you and there are enough cup holders to keep the kids entertained.

So what they made a diesel engine that doesn't pull like a fat man in a night club - hardly a challenge in this day and age of TDI engine design.

They don't look good imho, they are as bland as magnolia paint.

Besides, people carriers are only bought by people who have given up on life.

Which Perodua produces over 230hp? Let me know and I may consider it.

There engines don't need to be fast in order to sell the cars to most of the public. Most people don't want to go fast or care about how they look. Most would require a car which will get them to and from work and always be reliable.

I'm interested in the new Ceed, once the 2.0 tdi comes out, and it gets remapped. Skoda will be behind for the latest 'TDI' engine that doesn't pull like a fat man in a nightclub. ;)

Skoda will be or all of VAG??

Kia, Perodua, Proton, Chevy-Dauoo are all pretty nasty in comparrison in similar euro boxes (apart from the odd exception eg VW Fox)

The value drops quicker than Jade Goody indian fan club, they look like a washing machine, and everyone who sees you in one will assume you are dull, old and souless.

And as for a Fabia, everyone will see you in a sports car, which is cool, new, and full of life? ;)

How does your Seat differ exactly, 'just another leon' to most people.

I would seriously consider the big Kia 4x4 as a family car thses days. The chances of anything going worng with it have to be seriously small.

By being cheaper and slower:D

Economical freaks and women with wispy beards will love me

Selling your Seat?:D

My cousin bought an 02 plate Kia Rio acouple of months ago, yes it's abit plasticy (new word?) inside but no more than any renault or citroen that i've been in. but it has AC, alloys and electric windows all round!

She's chuffed to bits with it and got it for a bargain price :)

At the end of the day it's a car and so long as it's reliable who cares? :D

The Kia in question has been designed and built in Europe.

Dropping values surely make it an even better used bargain? At 3 years old it will still have 4 years of warranty to get it through the MOT etc. and it will be a very cheap car.

The whole point of this is that Kia realise how they are perceived and are trying the change their brand by making a better product.

Not so long ago this was the same as Skoda.

I wonder what would be happening now if this was a Kia forum and where it would be in 3-4 years time.

A good discussion  ..... but I'm yet to be convinced about the "con" side of it all.

I had this on my Celica...was a PITA to begin with...but then after using all the time and then driving the Octy I found that indicator stalk a PITA.

Thats it I'm never buying one

I just laugh at people who slag cars off becuase of the name. One of the reason I try and avoid Joe Bloggs cars.

I have a friend who has recently purchased a BMW 3 series because its a BMW.

 Badge snobbery on a Skoda forum ;)

The number of accidents Iv'e nearly caused, pulling calmly out of junctions with my wipers on full blast:D

I means you can drive easier with one hand but it's harder to smoke

I learnt drive on a Toyota Corolla with the indicator stalk on the right and practised in my Micra with the stalk on the left. Suffice to say, both cars always had very clean windscreens

Chris

Similar exp of learning, but with different cars and no undemanded windscreen washes; of course it helped some that the one with the LH indicator stalk didn't have an RH stalk!

... Now there's something you don't see every day :P
