Good and bad ;)

Its for the wife, but i sort of pushed her towards it as i'm hoping it will be lot more entertaining than my A6 Avant! :D

When is the new car expected to hit the show rooms?

The new fabia is due this year, but the vRS will probably be another year or so after that, As for good and bad points, have a wee search about the Fabia forums, not a huge amount of big things go wrong with them, but there are a few smaller niggles, door seals, wrinkly seat covers, misting up inside, aircon flap, the stutter, but thats what the warranties for ;)

From my experience of the Fabia vRS, Skoda dealers, and Skoda UK, I'd run a mile from any Skoda purchase. Unless you find recurrent problems, trips to the dealer and couldn't give a fig head office enjoyable the car is as much fun as walking through dog poo.

Good car, badly executed.

I ran one for two years and it was a good car. Not perfect but the cynics on here will have you believe they're terrible. They're quick, effortless to drive, economical, cheap and if we're being honest pretty reliable. If you want one go for it - I loved mine as do many people on here still.

I'd have another one.

No major problems for me.

THE big issue is the stutter. They all do it to a greater or lesser extent and depending on how you drive and how fast you drive you'll either not notice it or it'll drive you crazy. I've got a Fabia vRS at the moment, but I'm pestering the leasing company to change it for an Octavia for me because I really can't live with the stutter.

Otherwise, the car has been great, I've found a proper Skoda dealer (Family firm, cares about it's local reputation, nice folks to deal with), it hasn't broken down and the performance (standard) is plenty for the chassis and brakes. The seats are comfy over long distances and it's very quiet at 80-85mph (indicated) on the motorway.

Buy a low mileage EURO III model and enjoy it stutter free.

Thats a decent price , is that over 3 years?

I have had a Fabia vRS for 3 years now, had NO major problems at all, and my dealer has been brilliant.

I have 1 probelm now which is, WHAT DO I REPLACE IT WITH ??????

It is such a joy to drive, but it will be due for change end of the year and at the moment there is nothing, that currently compares to replace it.

I've got a low miles euroIII car. It's fantastic. However, I test drove a euro IV, and the stutter really wasn't that pronounced.

The Fabia VRS is brilliant, if what you're expecting is a diesel hatch that performs well, is economical, and good value. I'd buy another without a doubt.

I have had a few problems. I`m ashamed to admit it, but i have slagged off my beloved Fabia previously. 6 months down the line and all the issues bar one (stutter - the one problem the dealers are not able to fix within the Euro IV emissions specs) .

have been rectified by the dealers.

It has a lot going for it.

MPG

Performance

Residuals

TCO

Coolness

Moddability

Great community

Good dealers (from my experience here in West Yorks)

Decent NCAP rating (4)

Lots of little features - Well specced.

mine's getting built next week :D

54 plate had since new (so over 2 years old) and has been back to dealer twice........for its annual service:rofl:

Nothing....NOTHING has gone wrong or fallen off. Had a couple of little niggles but not so I've had to visit the dealer. Warranty expires Sept 07 so will watch for anything amiss between now and then as I will make sure any probs are done under warranty.

Will I get another??.............errrr YEAH!!!!!

I had the exact same problem - absolutely nothing for a similar budget comes close overall. The only way to get rid of a vRS and not regret it is to buy something so utterly different that you can't compare the two.

.....or just buy another vRS:)

great car best i have had and had a few, mondeo (bag of ****), astra 1.6 club (company motor) head gasket went lol, astra bertone coupe (great car stupid fuel economy) etc etc fabia ticks all boxes for me anyhow!

Have a look at the new Kia Ceed.

2l td with 138bhp in a reasonable golf sized package for around 14K. Looks ok and comes with a 7 year 100k warranty

2 litre TDi with 138PS? Is it the VW engine?

I love mine, and wouldn't change it for the world!
