I don't know whether to go for a surround with the skoda writing on for back and front or just back.

Help! I need suggestions :o

Edit...and what does the skoda writing say anyway?

I asked them to email a picture of the Skoda surround;

Not what I was hoping for really.

I suppose it does have the logos though.

I was looking at my plates whilst cleaning my car yesterday and they're not held on by screws or anything so I'm a bit worried about getting them off and what I'll find when I do.

Theyll be on with sticky pads if its the rear ones. Just get something behind and lever it off!

Pics of my new clean plates fitted to my very dirty car!

This shows the surround that I got from Quinten.

The ones in the Group Buy were very similar, although the writing was a bit smaller.

Not sure if they were from Dubmeister or not - maybe someone can confirm.

But the rear surround still looks wrong...

might be worth useing a hair dryer as well to heat up the sticky padd that what i did on my front plate

Just got mine today, and first impressions they look very nice. But I noticed the spacing between the letter groups is way more than I expected and is about 65mm (legal spacing is 33mm) so a) they are not legal even with uk font etc and B) Doesnt look like it spells PEMBO, just PIE MBO :(

Might give them a bell and see what they can do:rolleyes:

What do you guys reckon?

I recon it looks like a show plate :)

How do you find the rear plate with the surround? Mine looks like it needs

some white reflective tape on the yellow...

I think I know why the gap is bigger than everyone elses...

On the order form I put <> and they phoned me and asked if I was wanting the stickers because the ":" meant you want stickers - and I said no. But I think they left a gap for the stickers anyway.

Also, yes, its a show plate, but with UK font and proper spacing its perfectly legal (as long as the postcode of dubmeister is on it, which a dymo label maker can sort out  ).

And you have lost me with the rear plate white tape thingy, do you mean you want the lettering on the surround to be yellow?

You mentioned in an earlier post that you used a colon when you filled out the order form. Not sure whether you ordered the stadt stickers as well when they phoned you, but have they left space for them anyway?

Whether they will do anything to sort it (which presumably means a new set of plates if you are not happy) probably depends primarily on what you put on the order form (ie in writing). Worth a try though depending on what was said in the phone call (and whether they choose to remember details any verbal agreement subsequent to your main order).

Edit - You must have read my mind while I was typing!

lol, psycic!

No, I didnt order the stadt stickers from them, but yes by the looks of things they have left space for them.

On the form I did put the colon, but the form doesnt say what the colon means, I presumed that it was used for separating groups of characters.

However when the guy phoned me he asked me if I still wanted the gap leaving for the stickers as I had put the colon but not ordered any stickers and I said no, I dont want the gap, it was an accident on my part. And that was that.

Im going to set my mother onto them when she gets home, thatll make sure I get it sorted :D

Ahh, can see it now. On the left and right edges the yellow shows through, might just use tip ex on mine to make it white again :D

Even though they phoned me up to confirm if I wanted a bigger gap, and even though I said "No, just a normal gap" they are saying its my fault  . Also they said that they assumed that the whole of the Brisky group buy wanted a bigger gap as they said some one asked them to so that people could put the stickers in it - even more confused at how that is my fault:confused:

Waiting for them to get back to me now:rolleyes:

And to think I was going to get my dad some + surround for his birthday, I think Ill get them off that ebay seller andy2407 suggested

Result

None of the staff can remember phoning me, but as they said, they phone many customers a day. And as it was a genuine mistake on both parts, they are willing to make me some new ones up and I send these ones back. Going to put a note in though to make sure I get the right ones this time

But the rear surround still looks wrong...

I agree, I think I will be removing it & using double sided tape instead.

Front surround will be staying though.

Simon, just get some 3M reflective tape and cut to suit :)
