Is the engine reliable enough even with all the mods, i mean imprezzas n evos break all the time running those types of boosts

Engines been running since built in October 2005.

I had a valve spring breakage last year from broken gear shift cable causing me to misshift and grab 1st when I was aiming for 3rd, but only damage was spring. New race springs then installed and alls been fine since.

Only other failures have been associated "other" turbo kit and manifold prior to changing to my own kit. Got fed up of warped manifolds, cracking & melted exhaust housings, so bit the bullet and started over doing my own thing. over 100bhp more than before and reliable with it. ( touches wood of course!)

 10bhp higher than my car  :(

you have a 507bhp car?

Bill

Are you still running the Apexi boost controller, if so have you had any problems with it.

not long been running it so ytea, its still on there. no problems as yet. why?

I have it for gear limited boost for starts, and its programmable boost settings.

bill

Wondering out loud here but does a torque-limiter based on which gear you are in exist? Mainly thinking this for 1st/2nd, 3rd isn't too bad generally :)

Was thinking along the same lines. Gets a bit tiresome pulling away some times. Was it much ag to fit? My Jap is not that great. :(

I'm in the throws of building a new engine/turbo set up and trying to keep the GT's in check with your right foot is not the easiest thing in the world.

was testing @ Combe yesterday, and the apexi/bosch working relationship was'nt great. overfueling causing misfire with apexi controlling boost. part throttle worst. returned it to N75 control from bosch ecu and all that cleared up.

It had worked better before.. Apexi control solenoid sounded like it was making a right meal of control, vs N75 which just got on with it.

Not sure what to do now..

as an aside I tried my new Racelogic Performance box logging yesterday... downloaded last night to see myself around the software.. Well cool bit of gear.

some "best" figures it logged on journey home.

30-50mph in 2sec, 50-70mph in 1.9sec (loadsa wheelspin as I remember pulling out of junctions whilst it logged a stop start.)

Was hoping you were going to say it worked.

Did the equal length mani help with power delivery, a bit more progressive perhaps.

BTW nice figures with the race logic.

Wow. Im very impressed!! - Dont spose you want to swap?!?

apexi:

Its odd as I'm sure it worked better before on the road, but the trouble I have is its on the road performance is so far out of step with other road users as to render its performance useless. I cant use it on the road, way too fast too quick.

equal length mani certainly seems to be working in conjunction with the other parts. complementry.

top end is healthy as is progression, just a lot of it

That's really nice.

Manifold looks like a work of art.

Hehe, nice figures Bill.

The white manifold reminds me of the engine room in a superyacht :)
