just had a call from the sales department of my local skoda garage (don't want to talk to the service department anymore!) and he said he can now sell the car, says he's getting ten of them, and gave me the exact spec listed above.... my problem has been managing to do a deal with a sales department to get a decent trade-in value for my car, and he's taken all my detailes, and is going to call me back..... if he can work the figures to my satisfaction, looks like I may be staying in the skoda fold, with one of these special editions...

Yipeeee! Just come back from the Skoda garage and put a deposit down on the Limited Edition Blue. Dealer says that the current vRS may be worth a little more because they are not making any more vRS's in this style other than the Ltd Ed Blue.

I asked if I could add extras and they said no but will be checking as they didnt have a lot of information about it. The larger dealerships are getting a maximum of 14 cars allocated to them and the smaller ones will get 2-3 allocated.

Better put the deposit down now if you want one. I was the second person to order one at the dealers.

I've got a better specced, and nicer colour one for nearly half the price.

One thing in that press release 11,000 have already been sold in the UK and now a further 1000 so 12,000 units of the vRS exist.

The irony about limited edition when in fact the limited edition accounts for 9% of what will be all vRS's sold in the UK.

I personally think the spec sheet of the limited edition vRS is good VFM and given its that price this will certainly do only one thing to the value of std vRS's they will have to drop.

Its like the current housing boom best get those seatbelts on the crash in residual values is coming.

Mmmm, yeah I was thinking that today TBH. When I started this thread I was really up for it but this morning I did wonder exactly how many vRS' had been sold and whether these specials would fly off the shelf or not. I am starting to think that yes they will sell but a goodly proportion will be ex-dealer demo's - have spoken to a few dealers and all say they've sold their current vRS demo's and will be registering the LTD's as soon as they come in. I'm now in two minds what to do as I really like the colour and the leather but on the other hand I've got a dicky back and wanted heated seats. Plus if (as a couple of dealers have speculated) it'll be available on 0%, it is easier to buy than having to get a regular loan for a nearly new standard one with heated seats, xenons and cruise. This is the bit about b****y cars I hate!!!!

He text me today saying there's a load of blue Fabia vRS's in the new car compound when he drove past. Don't know if its all 1K of them.

I've been looking to get a vRS, mainly thanks to the 0% finance deal

the dealer this week told me about this new special edition, and says not only is it limited, but it will end the production run of all vRS, so there will be no more "normal" ones after that anyway.

something to do with the new Fabia meaning an end to production of the current bodyshape, so an end to production means an end to vRS until newer vRS comes out - the special edition will be the last Fabia vRS in the current style to be produced

also - he said he didn't think the 0% deal would be extedned to this car, and he also said that Skoda are running out of built vRS cars to be able to register them before the end of march deadline for 0%

Have decided to go see the LTD at the dealers when they get one in on demo and see what I think then. If there are none left by then then so be it, but TBH I think there will be a few kicking around for a little while (1000 of 12000 is quite a lot). If not then its fate that I'm not meant to have one. Its the lack of heated seats that bother me - I was dead set on them (bad back see) and I really wanted xenons too.
