What is under the fabia boot floor?

Wow, may be onto something here- also don't forget that Aircon compressors are driving by belts on the engine (not the cambelt). You free up all that parasitic load and get free bhp as well as lose mondo weight...:D

Found that site for 12V aircon units - !Portable 12-Volt Swampy Air Conditioners & Evaporative Coolers. :cool:

An alternative to the aircon may be to wear only a thong while driving in summer....:eek:

Cheers :rofl:

PS another weight distributing idea - split front and rear speakers - play light classical in the front and heavy metal at the rear - sorted!

:rolleyes::rofl:

The thong idea sounds rather ball-splitting to me - literally! :rofl:

Without knowing what effect losing the aircon belt has on the engine (i.e what's on the engine that drives it?) I will not be touching that. I may not at all come to think of it.

AFAIK - there is either a serpentine belt which loops over every pulley, including the aircon compressor pump, or separate belts on shared pulleys.

It's no biggie to disconnect the aircon pump belt if it's a separate one - just watch for any pressure in the system when disconnecting hosing! A serpentine belt may need changing for a shorter one, or placing an idler pulley.

I know - ask Lummox!!!!!
