Hello... Didn't expect to find something like this... I am about to order an Octavia VRS and wondered what options I should be adding? Is the Maxidot display work it? Does the light assistant work or does it just drive you insane? Any advice greatly appreciated!

Hi & welcome to the site. :wave23d:

don't know about the maxidot, but sure someone will be along soon with the info.:D

.

Hello and Welcome:D

When it comes to options i always say to myself what do i want to make the ownership experience safer, easier and more enjoyable and within your budget.

The only option i would definately get would the Xenon headlights, they are worth every penny.

Have fun.

Welcome chap.

Thanks for the welcome and the advice! The girlfriends Saab Aero cov has Xenons and living in the middle of nowhere means that any extra light is a pretty good idea. :D

I have had quite a few black cars and fancied a change, does anyone know how the race blue standsup to stonechips and wear and tear... or should I stick to black which looks very mean?

I have Maxi Dot and Light Assist - Like them both.

Blue might be coming a bit too common, but I think they look lovely in blue.

Thumbs up for xenons, wish I had them on my Fabia.

Not much help because I am not an octy owner, but welcome to briskoda.

Hello and welcome.

Xenons and maxidot are a must. 18's and dual zone climate are very nice to have as dual zone gets you a jumbo box and leccy rear windows.

If you are poo at parking then rear senors and maybe light assist.

If you are really bothered then cruise and satnav can be retro-fitted.

See I started simple but got carried away. I guess it all comes down to how many pennies you have to spend.

Welcome  - it's amazing what you find on the internet isn't it? ;)

I'd go Xenons, Maxidot, dual-zone, cruise and heated seats. Perhaps parking sensors. If I were buying a vRS I'd stick BBS CHs on it anyway, but otherwise yes, you need the 18s. You'll regret it otherwise I think. Oh, and black would look ace I think.

Let us know what you decide on anyway...

Steve

Hi, and welcome to the forum.

I went a bit nuts with the options on my octy vrs, got the 18" wheels, xenons, rear parking sensors and jumbo box. Could not do without them now!

Another option i added on was cruise control to try and save my licence:thumbup:

Hello all! Right... thanks for the advice, its greatly appreciated. The order will be ning placed tomorrow (lucky enough to get this as a company car!) so will see how many of the extras I can get for the budget. I am still undecided on colour... but am sorely tempted to white.................... I'll let you know how I get on (the colour debate rages on in my house). Cheers and I hope everyone has a great sunday polishing their ride. :)

Stu - just been looking at you other website.. . Good work fella! I had the wind noise problem in the test VRS Octy I took out and figured there was little that could be done to sort it. I'm glad tha when mine arrives I will be able to address the issue. Cheers.

Thanks

I would imagine if you are ordering a car from the factory it will have most of the current fixes in place.

Hello to all - and thanks to the tons of advice I have had! The lease company have been bloody difficult and I have had loads of issues with the facilities people at the company, bt finally, my Red Octavia VRS PD with cruise, maxidot and jumbo box (with its associated goodies) is on its way !! Only downside is the leadtime which currently stands at 3 months!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome and enjoy your car.
