Think i'm gonna have to see that in the flesh, looks a bit VW!

and its a hatch!!

Certainly looks like a major downsize on current model. I assume because it's based on the Octavia platform or will they stretch it? Local dealer says they are going smaller.

It's a bit 'SAAB' like with those headlights.

I thnk it's on the same platform as the new Passat, and the rumours say it will be a hatch/saloon split (ie there are 2 ways of opening the boot)

No it will use the MK5 Golf platform.

No it will use the MK5 Golf platform.

I very much doubt it as the Octavia is based on the Golf platform

And so is the Passat which is 20cm longer than the Octavia - just the right size for the superb

Certainly looks like the A5 platform in those pictures.

A change of plan from what I last heard then, but that was a year or so ago.

So do I - rear lights have AM - DB look to them - and should have nice C shaped illumination at night

My next Superb HAS to be an estate.....no estate ...no buy...and I look elsewhere

Looks good to me, especially the hatchback bit. I'm a bit concerned about the Superb going smaller, is this true? It's room and size are the biggest appeal for me. Anyone know when we're likely to see this? I'm looking at replacing mine at the moment and i'm not sure if it's worth buying brand new if this will be around within a couple of years.

I would think it still will be a bit bigger than the A5 Passat which isnt small by a long shot.

Good thing about the A5 platform is there is alot more free space with a transverse engine, plus you can have DSG etc.

Thanks for that, set's my mind at ease:)

I like that! Looks classy

Looks very nice indeed. Rear lights look a bit BMW. Saying that, so do the front lights!!!

Lets just hope they market it better and get more interest than the current model!

The styling is a bit more daring than the Octy 2. I like it. Looks a quality product. If its an A5 platform then there may be scope for an estate.

Interesting, as early reports were that it would use the same platform as the current Audi A6, but those pictures don't seem to support that. Couldn't see the two section tailgate really either.

How much longer can they stretch the Golf platform!!

Time will tell of course.

One photo shows it as a hatch, another shows as a "boot", but I can't see the join, as it were. Of course, it could be just 2 different white cars....

Overll: I don't know. I'd have to see it in all it's proper glory to judge.

And is it just me, but do those headlights have an "evil" look about them????

If would be so!
