Last one I hit did

I hit a pheasant this morning at 95mph, and (contrary to the usual get out of jail statement) this actually was a private road. I now have a dent in my bonnet and a trail of blood over my roof, little sheite

Dear oh dear

respect the wildlife.............. learn to slow down if you cant see

no sympathy! I hope it costs! You should have stopped that innocent animal could have died in agony

You're a cheerful chappy :)

I quite agree, animals should look before crossing a road. But seriously, there is some times when you cannot help but run into it. Also you are better off taking out a badger or something than causing an accident that threatens human lives by trying to avoid it.

I have never actually hit an animal in my car, but some bunny wabbits have had some near misses.

Lol,called Arrogant by a frenchman, Stop fuelling the stereotype:finger:

Two lucky escapes for our Skodas and other party..1) A Deer ran into the side of my wife's Favorit near Woburn, it bounced off and did remarkably little damage, and ran off. I think it must have had its brakes on. 2) An 11 year old boy ran out between cars in Harrogate and went straight over the bonnet and landed with a nasty thud. Expecting to find a dead body my wife found him getting up and trying to run off. She detained him and his mother soon arrived and started beating the living daylights out of the boy. "The little B****rs only just got out of hospital from the last time he did this" she explained to a thoroughly shaken up Mrs A.

Oh,,,and lets keep it friendly everyone, humour by all means, but no abuse please.

- Looks like its not been your day...:thumbdwn:

Hard luck mate - at least the car can be fixed... just a pain in the ****

I have never actually hit an animal in my car

I've been sorely tempted by the dog on times but couldn't reach him from the driving-seat:D

I hit a deer on Cannock Chase (which got up and ran off) after picking up a stag night party.

One of them said "only bloke to hit a stag on a stag night":D

ok, i checked with a police high speed driver, to find out the bottom line, on how to deal with animals in the road.

the awser was. "for any animal under the size of a cow or hourse, you should take your feet of the pedals, and strike the animal without changing direction". you should naver take evasive manouvers, or brake sharply.

as for stopping. i would have loved to have stop, i eat almost any animal i hit (dont like killing stuff for no reson)

the naxt day i went to the local pub, and found that a south african friend had come along shortly after and nabbed it. so its not gone to waste.

total repair bill.

This is what a phesant managed to do to one of my poor little minis one day.

Just going down little single track country road about 40 ish, and the exhaust note must have spooked it and it flew across the front of me. Result lost bird (i assume it died in the bushes at the side of the road, but couldnt be bothered to find it, its technically illigal too), damaged mini, luckily missing both spotlights, alternator and distributor behind the grill and the leading edge of the bonnet.

Still cost me 40 quid for a new grill though.

thank you.

there are proper ways of expresing your views without being rude. keep it light people.

I hit a badger in my current Felicia, most animals hadn't done any damage to it, but a badger......

Cost me £40 for a new foglight, and another tenner for a surround grill. I couldn't have avoided it either.

YOU BRAKE you HIT THE BRAKES, you STOP and i dont care who is behind, the law is they are at fault if they cant stop in time, their problem.

no! my problem when they kill me! self presovation!

as the law stands at the moment. me, and anyone in my "affected aria", is more valuble than an animal.

skoda.fr. please do not respond further to this thread, as your views and abuse, are not welcome.

While driving in Sweden is had the pedal "glued" to the floor doing 120 kmh and out of the blue a f.... deer came running over the road. Didn't even manage to brake before I hit the animal. Glass and plastic bits from the grill hit the front screen and the deer flew up in the air and hitting an old couples Volvo on the roof..... It was really funny to watch

The deer was as dead as it could be, but my skodiac had gotten damaged....

It took me 15 minutes to pop the bonnet using a stick. Lucky for me the radiator was intact and I only had to push it into position again. Had to use a strap over the bonnet to keep it in place. The deer weighted in at 26 kg according to the Police.

Since the f.... insurance company refused to pay for my repairs this crash set me back by 1500
