Featured Replies

Hi Guys

Returning back to Skoda ownership after 2 years in the wilderness that is BMW land

Am getting Mk 2 vrs but cant decide on colour, words of wisdom required:thumbup:

Steve

i like the blue, black loooks lovely but stays clean for 20 mins!

I was going to go for blue this time but decided to stay with black.

Just waiting for it now.....

For me it's a toss up between the blue or the black.

My heart says blue, my head black.

It could be argued that blue is a little more brash......no.....let's say 'noticable'....possibly to the old bill and car theives. Some people might wish after a few years of ownwership when the novelty has worn off they had gone for a more sombre colour.....could this be age related......goodness knows....I don't want to speculate on that. There are also one or two other car makes with a similar blue but that's not an issue at all. I love the blue myself the pics I have seen of blue vRS' have been stunning and the one at my dealership very nearly had be going the slightly 'louder' route! Indeed, after I ordered mine in black a friend of a friend told me his mate had had to make the same choice and had gone for blue. I must admit there was a twinge of....I should have done that and had done with it!

However if you see your vRS as a 'Quiet' car, passing under the radar a bit more and you want to play it safe.....go for black. Yes hard to keep clean, but bloody stunning when it is, the interior also looks nice with a black exterior!

Black or blue you will have a brilliant looking car, and I understand why you are having some trouble deciding between the two. This really is just a case of personal choice, both colours will be admired, although one will be easier to spot in Tesco's car park.

Hope this helps a bit,

Best wishes,

M

Thnx for the thoughts guys,am leaning towards black but still like the race blue,oh bugger it will have to buy one of each:rofl:

The way I see it is blue looks nice, but with black will be a lot easier to

repair those inevitable scratches.

Have you got a delivery date yet?

And are you moving over to the dark side, or staying with petrol?

No date yet Andy - it will be the DVLA holding things up regarding the reg plate :thumbdwn:

Staying with petrol :)

Silver looks pretty good too ;)

In fairness if I could rewind 12 months I would probably go for silver instead of the blue, but I had the same dilemma, blue or black.

The black one in this thread with B14 alloys looks the dogs danglies...

i had the same dilemma

went for Black in the end, i followed one for 20 miles, and the rear looked sooooooo much better in black, everthing (Reg Plate, Lights etc) contrasted so much better than it would on the Blue IMO...

I was in the same boat. I love the blue and red colour but they just stood out to much in the croud. I'm only 26yrs and was loooking for something that was more of a sleeper and would not attract attention every time I stopped at the lights. My first car was a Vectra GSI 2.6 V6 it was black and yes hard to keep clean but my when it was clean.................

Black says it all, Just sheer class

:cool: :cool: :cool::D :D :D:thumbup: :thumbup: :thumbup:

I've gone for blue, mainly because it was in stock. It does look stunning and my current (to be previous) Octavia is black so the change will do me good. Another thing, I've seen race blue on 17" alloys, but it seems to need 18" more than any other colour, but I'm not sure why!

Dave.

Nice GSi you had there Jonnie5...

I agree on the 18's on the Blue thingy though, another reason why i went for Black, couldn't afford the 18's too!

Yeh had a big lump in my throught when I sold that had a top of the range

Go for Black. Mine's race blue and I'd like to keep a little rarity value!!:)

black or blue can you get a mix of them :)

grey it is now very liked in vrs model

from them 2 option - black with his down aspects about maintenance but when is clean it will make you not to regret the decision

Ants, Don't keep posting picks like that.

My chq book is flapping :D

Be different! - Get a Yellow one! Your'll never lose it a car park and it won't get nicked :)

True...but, and I could be wrong here, after a few years of ownership your yellow vRS will not sell quite as well, with a non Skoda dealer mentioning that this was 'not the most poular colour at the time' etc. Bit like those G60 Corrados in the early 90s, an aquired taste. Still at least a yellow vRS will be alot more reliable than those supercharged bannanas!
