Just a quick summary poll to gauge how long it is between service intervals.

If you can tick the right box in the poll and then pop a note saying the mileage and what sort of driving people do that would be great :)

Ta

Mine was 17,000m also just about 2 years.

Driving style, I enjoy myself.

I

Just about 15,000. Car is always heavily loaded with tools and the car is driven like it's stolen.

Bought mine at ax. 17k miles. I insisted it was serviced by the supplying dealer prior to delivery, whether it needed it or not!

Can't comment on how it was driven by the previous owner, but I've put another 10k (mostly brisk) miles on since last September, and no sign of the 2nd service being required yet.

Service indicator came on today, 2900 miles to go, total mileage to date is 35600 miles.

18,800 miles. Mixture of town/motorway.

Thanks :)

I saw that link, but am specifically interested in the PD140 in the Octy II

Thanks :)

I saw that link, but am specifically interested in the PD140 in the Octy II

Which was why I pointed you to a thread about variable servicing intervals for 2.0 tdi Mk2 octavias

Yep but it ended up full of posts including from me about MKI and 1.9 TDI MK II

Ta though

18.5k. Just as i developed an airbag fault on the point of sevice.

Driven erm... well it depends how late i am, so usually quite briskly!

  • 6 months later...

The first service on my car was this month at around 13,500 miles. It initially came up "Service within 300 miles or 26 days". A few days later, after having done the 300 miles it said "Service now", so although it was close to being 2 years old, it seems that it was the (relatively low) mileage that trigger it.

I didn't think I drove that harshly! OK, I only bought the car 9 months ago, but roughly 10,500 of those miles were mine. Between 2 and 3 thousand miles would have involved towing a 'van. Would that explain it?

Ours needed doing when we bought it with just under 20k showing. The dealer said they'd do it, then said they wouldn't, then finally agreed to, then didn't. I drove 80 miles there and back to get it done, but th next day when I inspected the oil and air filters that I'd pre-marked, expecting the worst, sure enough they hadn't been changed, and the oil was as black as night and just like it was the day before. I got the rubber stamp though, so it's Skoda's problem if anything goes wrong. A warning to others, stay clear of Turners of Sedgefield.

16,000 and I never drive over the speed limit.

The two years are up in November, which will then have a mileage close to 16,000 and the vehicle has been used mainly as my hospital taxi to the point it knows its own way there and back.

In the main it has been a very good vehicle to date.

18,000m for me - just started requesting a service.

I'm now on nearly 36k so I expect I'll be due a second service soon.

At least I don't have to pay for it

I change the oil and filters myself every 15000km because don't trust somebody else work , the car is drived normal.

having the first service today after 18500 and 1 year 3mths. Mainly motorway driving in rush hour traffic.

I didn't vote up there, coz it isn't due yet.

17.5k, 9 months old, enthusiastic driving style, mainly motorways.

Just changed the front tyres for the first time if that's any indication...

20K, I drive normally, next one due soon at 37K it is 2 yrs old. I do however have to change the oil in the middle of te service intervals as the light comes on and I prefer to change than top up.

17.5 k from a pair of front tires?

Mine is about to go to the dealer in the next hour with just under 17000 miles on the clock and plenty of meat on the front tires.

The more crucial aspect of today's visit is to get this dam poor radio reception sorted out. The reception is getting hopeless and even a few miles up the road from the dealer Radio 4 FM can become very fluffy and distorted. Now he need not leave the town to get the result.

My fronts did 25k and it looks like the second set will do about the same.

The rears seem likely to make it to 50k.

By comparison my Mk1 TDI did 40 and 60k for front and rears.

OK so what's up with mine... It's done 8995mls and is saying service in 800mls or 516 days!
