Rolling Road, anyone up for it?

Featured Replies

Ola

IF I were to put on my sensible and organisational hat hat.gif and made in-roads to potentially sorting out a Rolling Road Day. Would anyone perchance be interested??? :?:

I think location may be the biggest concern. But that will be dependent upon WHOM fancies it and where the bulk of us are based. Give me a yell below or send a message to [email protected] and I will take it from there.

(PS. Can I add the general caveat that... If I am treading on anyone elses toes then please tell me  )

Maybe in two - three weeks time.

I'm planning on a Jabbasport remap, but have to arrange with superchips to get my chip removed and a refund first (its a long story).

There has been talk of up to 150hp with Jabbasport, so we'll have to wait and see.

Definitely interested in some rolling road fun after this though. :)

Could be a possibility if it's in a few weeks time as i'll have the car then, particularily if somewhere in the North West/North Derbyshire. Would be a standard vRS with hardly any miles on the clock (ie. on the boat now!) so would give an idea of what they come out the factory with !

  • 1 month later...

I've got a rolling road that can be used in the Reading area. Normally we charge

Note some skuds are 4x4 so this will limit the choice of rollers not that I'm interested but other 4x4 owners might be. I would be interested to see what a std 4x4 achieves I have heard rumour of 160 - 165, not the 150 stated by skoda

Yep, still definitely interestested in a rolling road day.

Especially as now i've sorted out my tuning box (with dash mounted switch) :)

Fabia, I still think it's a top idea (hmm who suggested it?)

Especially now I've been to FORGE. I need to know what the Octi was doing as standard and what the REVO programme has done to the power and especially the torque curve.

Although I was talking to a bloke down the pub who reckoned that my K&N Filtercharger adds another 90 brake to the vRS. I began to doubt him when he said that the tyre flies on his Nova enabled him to gain a top speed of 190 on the A1M near Peterborough :D

Anyone else? If there's only two of us then I'll have to change the title to Rolling Road Hour

If we end up in Reading Rollingroadtune then I'll give you a bell (although it looks more like Brum at the mo)

On Stuarts point... If certain 4x4 owners would like to put their money where their mouth is then I'm sure we can sort out somewhere with a double set of Dynos to suit :p

Yes, I seem to remember passing the buck on this one... sorry.

It would be interesting to see how much power some of the standard 1.8Ts are putting out.

Some members may want to find out if their rechips have given the increases quoted by the manufacturers. I for one found that superchips seemed to be overstating their claims to say the least

Jabba have a 4x4 rolling road (who I can highly recommend) and I also went to Stealth Racing a few months back.

There must be some more curious skoda owners out there!

It would be a good chance to meet up and get chatting with other Briskodians + arrange other meets etc...

I'd certainly be up for this. Not sure how far I'd be willing to travel yet, but definitley worth a think about!

Yeah, that's what I'm talking about  :drive:

Jabba sounds like a good idea, they are in Peterborough which is easy for me.

Other 4x4 roads include,

Star Performance - Fife

Power Station - Cheltenham

Clive Atthowe - Norwich

But that's only if any of the off road crew fancy it ;)

If not then the world is our lobster

I might go and look on cupranet to see if they can recommend anyone else

Does anyone know if DrPeppers has arrived off the slow boat from china ?

I'd be up for a rolling road session, but again depending on where in the country....I live in Essex, but tend to work all over the place

on that previous list of 4x4 roads the one in norfolk would be a possibility

I'd be ok with 50 miles or an hour of Milton Keynes.

... and it would have to be a 4WD one !

Now we're getting somewhere. Lets go back to the top :)

How about the 3rd of May at Jabba ?

That's about 53.9 miles (or 1hr 22mins) from the place with lots of roundabouts according to Routefinder ;)

I will give the Hut a ring a ding on monday to see if they do do weekends.

Stathap

Having my car remapped next month so roundabout city's representative would be interested !

3rd May sounds good at the moment.

Count me in!

Made the call :(

As is so often the case with tuning companies, Jabbasport do not open their rolling road on a saturday.

Should have seen that one coming Homer :( :(

New hat time biggrinbandit.gif

We have three options,

1. Book a day off work

2. Look into a RR which may be open on a Saturday

3. ???

thoughts Gentlemen please

Personally, I would rather go to Jabba so I dont mind going on a weekday. Its not too difficult for me to get a day off.

What about the others?

Drpepper, fab16v, gunnie, Fabpreza - still interested?

Anyone else?

it might be possible for me to wing this from work...i'm coming to the end of a contract and that usually gives me a few weeks 'working from home' before anything new comes up from my firm...I can always switch my phone off for a few hours

so I could possibly be up for a weekday at jabba in early may....

How about Friday May 2nd then?

homerhippie.gif

Sounds great.

I will have to check on Monday, but 2nd May should be fine.

:)

Sound

Just waiting for the other usual suspects to reply...

I can't believe nobody else fancies coming. A friday off work and the chance to see a nice graph of what your pride and joy can do to show your mates down the pub... "it's faster than a cossie mate honest..."

I should say that tickets are selling fast but that would be deceitful, sneaky and not exactly true boney...

Anyone else?? :p

I'll check monday to. Could be good seeing how the standard RS is doing after 33k miles. Might highlight any potential problem.

That sounds good. I will also have to check on monday, but if I can't get it as a holiday, I might just be sick on that day. caugh caugh! :p

As if by magic the shop keeper appeared

All, let me know tomorrow and I will ring Jabba back on Tuesday to make sure that they are not taking a long weekend (it is a bank holiday on the 5th)
