fabia vrs chrome grill surround sprayed black

I've just got my fabia VRS and somebody has suggested that I get the chrome grill surround painted the same colour as the car (black magic) can anyone post some pictures so I can decide if I get this done or not. I'd like to see what it looks like. has anyone got any advice? Much appriciated!:confused:

Thanks Jon I think I'm sold on the idea, it looks meaner!

Is it easy to do your self or did you get it done at the garage - it looks a very professional finish.

Did it myself.

Just needs preparation & patience.

Funnily enough, I did a couple of photoshops the other day at work - I'll post them in the morning.

This is my next mod.......... I'm picking my replacement surround up from the dealers tomorrow..... then taking it to a bodyshop to be sprayed...... Should have it on the car in a week or so..... Work permitting. :D :D :D :D :D

Yes, they are Audi TT Competition 7.5 x 17" alloys.

Had them refurbed & painted in Platinum Grey paint (a SEAT body colour).

But wouldn't the idea be to paint it silver on a silver car??? :confused: :confused: :confused: The original poster of this thread has a black car hence the title.

The mod is to colour code the chrome surround to the rest of the car...... Black on the black car, Red on a red car, yellow on a yellow car etc....

Yes, that would be the idea, hence why I've got a silver colour coded grille all painted and waiting to go on mine.

I wanted to see what it would have looked like in black, hence my 'shop. No harm done.

Did you read the rest of the thread?

Picked my replacement surround up from the dealers yesterday and dropped it off at a bodyshop i know.... I should be picking it up next Tuesday when i'm off work...... then it'll go on the car either Tuesday or Wednesday depending on the weather. :D

Do you have pics of that on your car joff?

I'm bored and fancy doing something to the car and spraying that surround is high on my list.
