Would the posters on these fora please' date=' please, please learn how to spell, punctuate and capitalise, along with the correct use of grammar, before posting their drivel. It is exceedingly tiring to try to translate their illiterate rants. Or, at the very least, could the moderators please reject ill-formed posts.

It apperars to be silicon contaminate in the fuel.

Although the statement that the fuel is fine, is a joke, as the supermarkets will have tested current stocks in the tanks, and will most likely have sold the contaminated fuel. The Garages appear to be restocked every 4-5 days, so any containated stock left would have been diluted by the new stock added.

I had this problem with my Vauxhall Astra I traded in for my Fabby about 6 months ago. A lot of Vauxhall owners put it down to faulty EGR valves (exhaust gas recirculation) which cost

So far it appears that non of the vw group are affected, neither ford for some strange reason, most other manufacturers o2 sensors are now on back order!!

MSN quotes Ford as being affected, as well as French cars.

There are reports that the main car brands affected are:

Vauxhall

Peugeot

Citroen

Mercedes-Benz

Ford
