How on earth was this not fatal?

Amazed, a combination of technology and bloody good fortune I would guess

Ouch, the drivers seat appears to be the only one in the correct place.

Yeah, reading the posts it seems like there was only one person in the car! Good job too! It was probably quite a surreal experience...

Wow. Glad he's in good nic....

It's heartbraking to see your favourite car, demolished!

Just shows you how stubborn a tree is doesnt it.

If there had been anyone else in the car or it had been RHD the outcome would have been alot different.

That is unbelieveable! Ive seen cars that have had nothing like that damage, or accident and the occupant has been seroiusly or fataly injured. Shame really, i wouldnt mind stripping some of the parts from it though, i could find a good home for most of them.

He was incredibly luck to hit the tree at such an angle that it was cut in two just missing him

 trees do not take prisoners when you hit them , very lucky driver to get out of that alive

ba-fecking-ja-sus

don't think mavis would be so kind to me in the same situation :(

 I like the observation about the welds on that 'Jalopnik' website.

Seems to be doing the rounds this. Truly remarkable. Someone on the RS6 forum pointed out the tailgate was still "saleable" LOL!

If that had been me, I think I would have been buying a lottery ticket that night! ;) One lucky person!!!
