Ibiza 160 pd...whats differant to the Fabia?

Featured Replies

Was just looking at other car options, and a Candy White Ibiza Cupra 160pd looks rather nice. What advantages over the fabia vRS is there to justify the larger price?

I see it has a lower kerb wieght, and IIRC it has a front mount intercooler, 17" wheels, but what else?

What brakes does it use? etc

Brembos, FMIC, turbo, map. Don't you get some funky dials, part leather seats, nicer suspension, some uprated bushes etc too.?

Brembo 312 Brakes. Slightly bigger Turbo and a sportier name. 3 doors ..

Edit! Nice one Tom :(

what about performance? quicker than the vrs?

Yes, of course. :)

Lighter, lower, more powerful... definately!

Just to add, they all have climate control like the Mk1 Octy vRS system "Climatronic", and they also all have ESP...

still requires a Jabba rear ARB though

Thanks Guys.

Esp? I'll leave it then ;)

I've taken two out for test drives and tbh was unimpressed by both. The climate control doesn't seem to be capable of blowing cold air, even on "LO", and the interior is really quite tacky. I prefer the design to the Fabia's, it's just not as well screwed together.

Not Brembos, brakes are AP items.

FMIC, bigger turbo AP 4 pot brakes and 17" rims...

thats about it.

I too have driven one, didnt like it - handling and ride wise the furby with eibachs is a far more compliant setup.. Seat have a **** about tit way of doing suspension.. thin arbs, soft dampers and rock hard springs... or soft springs and rock hard dampers i can never rememebr..

but anyway.. i rekon a furby vRS would be able to do cross country (espec weeton lanes) quicker than a cupra... the suspension is terrible.

Most the reviews say that the FR is the better car on british crap roads.

If it's anything like the FR in terms of build quality and interior plastics, I found the Fabia to be almost luxury in comparison!

Forget em both and Get a 1.8T Polo GTI, the best car on the Platform

Probably - but have you seen the price?

not sure if it was a german only special but i read about it in autocar i think. i'll go searching. it has different(and nicer) bumpers, 180bhp instead of 150 and thats about it but it definitly looks nicer :)

well bugger me sideways this is the actual article i read :)

polo cup

polo cup

Aye.. like a mini R32

Polo Cup looks good! £16k though... you're having a joke.

why is 16K a lot??

thats how much the corsa vxr is, the clio 197 is and a lot of other small hot hatches are. its a fairly normal price now.

Cup is Germany only, so

I like the polo gti in white. But yes its pricey.

Sure the Cupra has softer springs than the FR but stiffer dampers.
