18 to psis off Vrs owners, 1.8 secs for 2.0 to annoy mil, methinks

Vrs isnt really a 0-60 car, most Modern TDI's excel at ingear accel- ie grunt for overtaking etc.

i realise that.... the 20-40 time is something like 2.4 seconds..... but it seems strange that skoda would quote 9 seconds or there abouts if the time more realisticly is around the 8?

Indeed, don't forget that a 2.0 will muller a Bugatti Veyron, in gear, between 51mph and 51.96mph*

In actual fact it will destroy everything short of an F16 on full afterburners

*assumes the veyron driver is asleep or can't be bothered to "race" a warm shopping hatch :D

too many variables! I know, for instance that in the 80's and early 90's BMW 's quoted 0-60 times were done with the car having a full tank and 3 passengers, to give it a more "real world" approach

i meant seconds not minutes - doh

I think you were nearer with minutes rather than seconds :haha:

Anyway, 0-60 is an irellevance unless you meet any of the following criteria:

1. You drive with your fogs on in clear weather as it is cool

2. You have a burberry hat which you wear as it is cool

3. You have a mental age which matches the 0-60 time of your vehicle

There seems to be more and more of this element driving the Fabia and indeed surfacing here.

Are those times with or without a Magic Tree Air Freshener though?

You are asking the wrong question.

What actually matters is how long it takes you to get your vRS from 0 to 60. Asking us isn't going to help you go any faster. Spend a fiver on a Maplin's digital stopwatch and do some timing runs.

And when you find out, don't bother telling us - your figures are only relevant for you.

And anyway, my Octavia SDI was faster and quicker :D

And yes it did have a green Magic Tree airfreshener ;)
