Fit air conditiong to Felicia 1.3?

Featured Replies

I was just wanting to know this more out of curiosity really.

But does anyone know if it would be possible to fit an air conditioning system to a 96 felicia 1.3.

From what i can tell, it would be a matter of getting a bracket for alternator for pump to sit on and new auxiliary belt and then the complete change over of the air conditioner system and then obviously relay into fuse box etc.

It would probably a lot more work than its worth, but just thought i'd ask if people had any ideas.

Thanks

There was an aircon option I believe, though I've never seen one. I found this out when our car needed a water pump recently as cars with power steering use the same water pump as cars with aircon. It has a slightly larger diameter pulley apparently.

I'm not sure if aircon was a factory or dealer fit option. Its worth a phone call or two to find out I suppose.

I think a system would be fairly cheap to fabricate, but not really worth doing.

A/C was definitely a FACTORY fit option. I'm sure a couple of hours on ETKA would find the parts needed for the change, but buying new would be hideously expensive... But I'd sit down on ETKA, see what parts were needed, and compare part numbers with other models like the Polo and the Golf, and see what can be salvaged from scrappers. There is a '97 1.9D Polo in my local scrapper with a/c, I'm so tempted to rip it all out and do something with my Polo, but decided even though the cost would be small, its really not worth the effort. :)

A/C was an option on foreign models - haven't ever seen one in the uk. Mind you it would be nice to have it now - its warmed up since the Felicia was realeased 12 years ago!
