Hello all. I'm so pleased to have found Briskoda - or is it Briskodia - the land inhabited by Skoda owners? Although I wouldn't exactly describe my Fabia as brisk - it needs to think about it before leaving a standing start!

I have owned a Fabia Comfort 1.4 since 2000. This is my third car in 28 years - how sad can you get? In 1979 I bought my first new car - a Volvo 245 estate which I owned for 10 years, when it became too expensive to maintain. That was followed by a Vauxhall Astra estate (my family size had diminished by then from 7 to just 4). Then in 2000 when it was just me and the missus and the Fabia was the Car of the Year I bought this one. I've been really pleased with my purchase!

Unfortunately my local Skoda garage shut down last year and it has been difficult to get dealer advice so I am very pleased to have found this site where people seem to be sharing the 'foibles' of their cherished possession(?) or not in some cases!
