Quick update regarding People, Services and Servers.

People.

I'd like to thank the amazing efforts from the "backroom" people this month. They know who they are . Thanks guys and gals!

I'd like to thank all the new and existing users of BRISKODA, Febuary saw over 300 new users. I am really proud of how you all make BRISKODA a unique site on the internet. Thanks all.

Services.

It has become apparant the services we offer were not quite right, we are realigning some of the key ones ( read stickers ). Please note no funds were cashed ( as I am aware ) without stickers being dispatched. We are exploring a few options and hope to have a solution in place very soon. To those waiting and those who have already sent a request, please bear with us while we transfer and catch up. The upside is we are also discussing other exciting options ( T-shirts are exciting right:P ). Again thanks to the efforts from all those involved in this process, never shall they volunteer again

The use of the gallery and review tools are begining to pick up, these are free tools to members, should you have problems, please use the website help forum. The pictures listed there will be making random appearnces in the site over the next few weeks, see if you can spot yours .

Servers.

Okay the issues of servers has dogged me since day 31. Many know BRISKODA is run out of one pocket and offset with many many dontations. The recent trials with adverts was in prepration for a move to a dedicated server. These normally run in excess of 70-100 GBP per month. The costs would be met by a few and the use of advertising. However and this is what I love about BRISKODA, a member has come forward and made a fantastic offer for the site.

As such in the next few days we will prepare the site for a move. Our schedule is next weekend (6/7th of March) when we will move the site to a dedicated server. Unlike previous changes, I hope with the help of those in the know to be a very short period of downtime. Those on NTL proxies should not be without the site for long and we should have an IP to supply anyway.

Those who use the email service, please note this will stop on Friday, so save your emails. Owing to a new structure (In March Update) some of these accounts might not be recreated (In part owing to server rules aswell)

Now I am not promising instant speed increases as a certian amount of tuning is required to the processes that the webserver employs, but I am promising a better service and response time overall from that point onward. So many thanks Faye.

Looking forward into March we have a few tasks to complete and catch up on. Once they are done we shall be looking for feedback on the server move, possible extra merchandise and publishing the link to the National Meet booking form. Lets have a great March
