Graham if that is a tax disc in the window it will have the original cars reg number on it.

Unfortunately it's impossible to read anything on it with these low quality pics. We'd need magical zooming software, similar to what they use in CSI Miami.

The only number we can try to guess -using our imagination - is in the electric power steering pump.

I was originally thinking if someone who lives nearer could actually find this car to see it, but your zoom got me thinking. Even if you can

I've reported it to eBay as being suspicious and got this reply:

I have reviewed the listing you have brought to our attention and taken

appropriate action. I would also like to explain eBay's policy with

respect to reports like yours.

eBay is not in a position to make judgements about the authenticity or

authorised nature of listings, except in the most extreme circumstances.

This may mean that we cannot remove the item about which you contacted

us, particularly when it is not blatantly clear from the item itself

that it is in some way infringing.

Although you may be extremely knowledgeable about these types of items,

we often cannot remove items unless of course the alleged infringement

is obvious on its face. To promote a safe trading environment for its

users, eBay prohibits users from selling stolen property on the eBay web

site and is dedicated to working closely with law enforcement to prevent

this unlawful activity. If you see an item on eBay that you believe is

stolen, your best course of actions is to contact law enforcement

immediately. In accordance with our published privacy policy, eBay will

respond promptly to properly submitted requests for information related

to possible sales of stolen property.

If you do contact a law enforcement officer, please let the officer know

that eBay would be pleased to cooperate in the investigation and ask the

officer to contact us. He or she can contact us by visiting the link

below:

eBay UK: Safety Centre: Law Enforcement

And clicking the "Contact Us" link on that page or write to

[email protected]

It is important that this method of contact be reserved for law

enforcement use only, as it enables us to respond quickly in case of

emergencies. The investigating officer should be sure to include the

following information:

1. The case number

2. The officer's name

3. The officer's telephone number

4. Any relevant item number or user IDs

I appreciate your vigilance in helping us to keep inappropriate listings

off eBay. If we can be of any further assistance, please let us know.

Kind regards,

Andrew Gilbert

Is this the only numbered item you can see?

Unfortunately that's the only number whe can guess. It's a pitty, because the tax disc would surely do the trick...

I don't know. Does anyone know wether a pump code would help in anyway?...

@ Mr. Grumpy -

As ChrisRS pointed out; you'd be better contacting the Plod and getting them to carry out an investigation...

Even if it isn't your car it might be someone elses and some poor sod may get some return on their loss... that said it may be totally legit... but when i originally saw this post on eBay a couple of days ago, something said 'stolen' to me...

And if it is yours, at least you'd have the satisfaction that the TWOCer that stole yours got a fair rodgering by some copper with a truncheon!

 could it be a burger van in the background!!!!
