I've got a 2004 Fabia Vrs and recently I noticed the rear washer jet has started to move with the wiper when I operate the jet.

Ever since new, it used to just squirt upwards while the wiper moved through the jet.

Now I pose the question which operation is correct?

I am going to ring my dealer tomorrow to see what they say, but I just thought I'd throw it out to you guys.

I assume if it's supposed to stay still (vertical) then something has either come loose or worn to cause it to move when the wiper moves.

The warranty runs out next month so I think I want to get it sorted ASAP!

It should always squirt upwards.

The nut will probably need a tighten down.

Sounds like the center of the motor is seizing up, will probably require a new one.

Dan, can you let us know the outcome. The same thing has started happening on my Passat est! Don't fancy a new wiper motor much.

I'm sure I read somewhere that VW do a repair kit - the washer jet is supplied by a tube that runs through the middle of the wiper shaft, it seizes and snaps.iirc the kit is not all that expensive.

I think you will require a new motor, mine did exactly this and got replaced via warranty

mine did the same but took it to the dealers and they weren't sure if it was supposed to squirt up or around so i got another one myself

I find the best way is to "Squirt" upwards............

mine actually squirts to the side then the wiper runs through the water it probobly not meant to do that but it works great so no point in changing it! a new wiper motor is £77 i needed a new one but i wasnt going to pay that price so i got one of a mk4 golf at a scrap yard for £30 audi a3's also have the same wiper motor and mk4 polo's

Thanks for all your comments, I rang my dealer they said bring it in on Monday, so I'll let you know what the result was. He suspected a faulty motor, so we'll see.

Yup, they're gonna replace the wiper motor under warranty - phew it runs out on the 15th April!
