C&c 3

Featured Replies

Anybody pre-ordered their copy yet?

Played the demo? thoughts?

Or is EA now cashing in on the franchise and adding nothing new and worth while?

played the demo and not sure tbh, for me C&C peaked with red alert 2 :)

i don't like generals as its too fiddly to play and hate the fact you have to find and select the barracks to build men, the war factory to build tanks etc etc and C&C3 seems to have gone back to that a bit but it just doesnt't seem as good to play as RA", looks better yeah but the gameplay isn't the same.

Im sure thats not the case in c&c3 - theres build "catagories" on the toolbar on the right...

i have played the demo quite liked it and i battered generals but never bothered with ra2

this will be my first game i've bought in over a year

C&C peaked with Dune 2 :P

Hmm i might have to get some of these out when i get my PC working again.

For RTS I think that Company of Heroes is as good as it get's at the moment, excellent game, lot's of free maps available that work well in Skirmish mode.

I love spanking yanks with my tiger ...................oooooooooooooooohhhh:D

I have C&C the first decade, basically all of the games from the original to Generals Zero:Hour

RA2 Yuri's revenge has to be joint favourite with Generals and Tiberian Sun.

Haven't touched C&C 3 as yet but it's been ordered.

I'm glad it has reverted back to the Tiberian theme though.

You can't beat a bit of multiplayer Renegade especially if you get in a good team.

so will i be seeing these user name's friday evening or what

I think it's gonna be a long evening with plenty of multiplayer madness

actually i think i may have a generals warm up week this week

Played the demo and liked it, however, I think RA2 was proberbly my favourite.

I agree with the various comments about the Red Alert C & C games, but I just can't seem to stop playing Generals. I guess its a cracking game in its own right but it isn't a C & C game, did EA just stick C & C on to it to make sure it sold?

I've enjoyed most of the C&C games, RA is my firm favourite though... network battles lasting 4 hours :)

I never got into renegade as i just felt that it wasn't a proper C&C title, I still play Generals though I am disappointed by EA's lack of resolving the stability issues with the game.

I am looking forward to this coming Friday and I'm giving my machine a format so it's all freshly rebuilt and ready :D

Played all of the C&C games, including the demo of C&C3, I have it on pre order £22, to be collected Friday :D:) ( roll on friday.)

Dont like 1st person shooters, even Renegade wasnt that good :(.

Others who have tried to copy C&C have all been rubbish.,so am looking forward to getting back to the orginal.

I may actually try the online game, as I was asking in Gamestation yesterday and found that the xbox version also has an on line facility.

I havent bought any PC games since the last C&C release, as there for me isnt a better exponent of this genre.

I have it on PreLoad.........so am waiting to see what happens, as the load file is tiny (400ish k). Looking forward to playing the full version, as the demo was great. About time too, cos my Generals disk is about worn out!

Anyone completed the general challenges on the hard setting? I've got to the tank general (good) playing as the infantry general (crap) and I get my **** kicked every time. It's easier playing the laser general but that gets boring after a while.

The final general has USA, China and GLA weaponry at HER disposal

I would like to see a new EA made version of Generals in the future as most of the mods are about as stable as one legged chair. :(

I've completed the lot, all challenges, all on hard setting, on my older computer (a pentium 4). I tend to get mullered a hell of a lot more on my newer AMD machine. The different PC has deffinately made it harder. Playing against the airforce general yesterday, I was taken out by 2 helicopters, before I'd finished making a barracks (first building I tried to make!)

The infantry general is a real pain in the backside especially against the tank general, my base gets over run by emperor tanks before I know it.

The air force general isn't too bad if you can build as many avengers as possible.

I'm going to persevere and get all the medals eventually.

Funnily enough, I did that challenge today, I was infantry general up against tank general and I totally whipped him. Biggest problem I had was the damn planes taking out my 'dozers.

I built a ring of gattling guns and bunkers and just kept building tank hunters and filling the bunkers up whilst I gradually got my base up and running, which I kept quite small. Another thing I did was get a couple of hackers quite early on so I had money coming in even when my cargo trucks got blown up.

The biggest annoyance in that game is the stupid generals going on about how they are going to destroy you when they start off with a fully functioning base and you start off with nothing :finger:. If it was the other way around then the computer would be dead before he'd built a barracks.:D

I am a C&C fan and had somehow missed this forthcoming release. The cheapest I can find online is Amazon at £25.99 (RRP £34.99) delivered so I will be ordering today unless anyone can point me to somewhere cheaper. Tesco Extra is advertising a Kane Edition of C&C3 at £32.97 - a saving of £7.02 on a RRP of £39.99. What does that version offer extra?
