Picked up the Kane edition at lunch... installed and running very smoothly

Well all was good until I found out that I can't save my game... :(

Only tried in between missions so far. Will give it a go, mid assalt.

Must go attack Cairo now!

Have you tried the latest patch v1.02 get it from ea or fileshack

when i installed it there was one patch then when it let log in online the ea devolopers were in the mutliplayer chat area.

When i told them my problems they told me there was another patch got that and it was sorted

Yeah I've installed the v1.02 patch last night and the game is still unstable and wont save. :thumbdwn:

Just a work of warning to anyone out there who are having serious loading issues, or getting the error "setup.exe is not a win32 application".

It took me 3 hrs to work out why I couldnt load due to the above problem, It turned out to be Nero, I had to remove ALL Nero programs, and use regedit to remove any ref to these programs. ( WARNING - Take a copy of your registry BEFORE using regedit to make changes ).

It worked and is an excellent game.

After loading and applying the patch, the prog works even better.

I had afew problems on my laptop aswell i had to uninstall / reinstall apply v1.2 then it was ok

It installs and runs, but due to how my system is configured I can't save at all and it's purely down to the sh!t coding of the game. :thumbdwn:

I recently rebuilt the machine (it was on my to do list anyway) earlier in the week so I don't have nero installed as yet... Steve just out of interest which version are you using? I'm guessing EA have put something in to protect against programs like poweriso, deamon tools etc and this is conflicting with something in Nero?

The Supreme Command demo runs really nicely but as much as I like the game it is abit slow.... at least it works though which is more than I can say for C&C3

if its any consilation the ea developers are working all weekend to sort these problems people are having (alldeglly)

Cant stand it when companies do that, I normally take the game back and get a refund when there are errors like that tbh.

I'm quite tempted to take it back and get Supreme Commander instead... wait and see what happens with the next patch from EA... Seems like they've been to the M$ school of business :(

it is the INcD within nero that is the problem.it appears to stop the auto run function, Sorry i didnt look at what version of nero, just took it off.

My C&C3 (and SC) playing has been put on for hold now... The CPU in my machine passed away during the night :(

I knocked a capacitor off my graphics card whilst taking my machine to bits as well, been told that the joints on it look very dry so it wasn't my hamfistedness... Just hope now that it can be soldered back on... :(

i did that with a gforce 2 ti once and soldered it back on still going strong now in my work computer

Yeah.. I learnt long ago to stay well away from soldering irons... trust me it's not a pretty sight!

Taken the card to a mates house and he's going to try and sort it out for me

All in all I've not had the best of weekends.. ah well just over 4 hours till it's over

I'm just havin problems with the aliens! Nod are dead, but he bugs keep coming!

Installed the Kane edition with no patches and no problems, played it in all game modes and it's fine

The multiplayer servers are on the fritz at the moment

Well I've sort of got my gaming PC up and running (on a shoe string).. installed patch 1.04 and I still can't save the game at all.

Gave the game to a mate to try and the only way he could get it to complete the installation properly was if he installed it on a completely empty hard drive... every time he tried to install it to the default directory on the C: drive the installation would never finish. :confused:

I'm half tempted to take the game back for a refund... seriously lost any faith at all in EA now. :thumbdwn:

Ive been playing mine with no problems

Recently upgraded to a amd X2 4200 (overclocked of course lol) and the game is soooo much smoother.. just gives it the extra-niceness in vista:thumbup:

working my way through the GDI campaign at the moment
