Ferodo suppliers

Featured Replies

I just got of the phone to Kevin from Sejoc and they don't do Ferodo's?!?! Just EBC he told me. Then he recommended I contact some company near Silverstone/Towster of which he had no phone number and I didn't quite catch the name of.

So I guess its DT only now who supplies the DS2500s?

01914 103 770 - Alyn. Be aware, however, that Geoff is still waiting for his fronts - there is a shortage, aparrently. Guess who's to blame? ;)

Not me. :D

Just had Alyn (or his partner) phone me back with quotes:

Q,

I got aquote off Chris@DT for the DS2500 but I can't remember if it was a GB price of a one off buy...

Si' date='

did you change the fluid and if so which did you use.

Cheers.

The short answer is Slikolene Pro Race 2000, the long answer will have to wait for a PM - the DNS servers work use are not updated, and things are a bit flakey at the mo.

And here's Chris with prices:

DS2500 Front Pads =

Make sure that the fluid is not silicon based (I think that's correct) as it absorbs lots of moisture which will lead to fade, I think.

Just ordered mine from DT. Don't know when they'll arrive, but at least I got the discount :)

My little tip for you:

When ordering from DT, if they don't have them in stock, ask for them to be sent direct from the supplier ;)

Usually arrive within 2-3 days :D

I had read that advice before, but it didn't stick. Fortunately I'm not in a hurry on the pads as the old ones still have plenty left, so I don't really mind waiting for it... in fact, it will be less suspicious towards SWMBO as well ;)

And what did the postie surprise my darling other half with this morning? New brakes, with plenty of time to get them bedded in for the trackday :D

Now if I could only get that ABD TIP as well...

So are you going to have a go at fitting them yourself?

I got a link which gives step by step instructions.

You can borrow the winding tool if you like......once Nick's finished with it.

p.s if you decide to do it yourself can I come and watch and take pics? ;)

What do you think?!?!? I didn't even fit the DV myself, let alone know how to get the wheels off ;)

Besides, the brake fluid is going to be replaced at the same time so I'll leave it to the professionals.

Spoil sport! ;)

At least I wont have the pads fitted the wrong way around... :P

That's discs.....and it's an easy mistake to do. :P :D

;)

You got give a guy some credit for having a go and not making a complete c**k up of it. ;)

Having just (ok, a few hours ago) unpacked my goodies, I notice that the front pads didnt quite survive the handling of either the postie, or the guy working in the warehouse. Can anyone who has these tell me:

1) Does it need (or come) with screws?

2) On the back of the pad are some metal thingies... are they vital? One of them is bent and I'm not sure what they are?

3) In between the 2 halves of the pads is a groove. It seems that something sharp (probably the metal thingies mentioned in 2) removed some pad material... is this going to affect them?

Q.

Q, can you post pics?

And where did you get the pads from (DS2500's i assume?)

I'm getting a bit sick of waiting for mine now

Same here :( Apparently they have to come from Italy ...

Nick,

I get the impression it would be faster to go to Italy and collect the damn things myself.
