What's this please?

Featured Replies

Have just been cleaning the car and found this in under the bonnet! I know i didn't leave it there. Is it something off the car or is something that has been left there? Had the car serviced several weeks ago now and had the brake fluid changed a couple of weeks ago. I'm sure i cleaned the car the other week, which is why i'm confused.

Looks like a cap off something. It's got no oil underneath it. It does have '10-1' written under the lid and doesn't really smell of anything. Can anyone help for peace of mind?

I was sure it's from when the brake fluid was changed, but was sure i'd cleaned the car since then and found it down by the battery. Have checked under the hood and all usual caps seem in place. I was just waiting to see, as i'm not mechanically minded, if anyone suggested it was not an obvious cap that you cannot see straight away when you open the bonnet.

Many thanks...

looks like a coolant/brake fluid bottle cap to me..........bin it.

yea id say its from a bottle so bin it

Hmmmmmmmmmm Pomfret cakes, yum yum.

looks like the lid of an old 1L army drinkin bottle.

Lid off an oil bottle etc.

Chuck it when you are happy that there is nowt missing under your lid.

just the lid from the bottle they used to do your brakes, don't worry about it and bin it :)

But have you checked to see if it tastes of liquorish yet?
