Whats faster, the Octy RS or the Superb 2.8V6, I recall their performance figures being similar?

Thats a bit of a broad question.

if its A-B, then definately a Octy, the Superb apparently doesnt handle.

other than that, it depends on which gear etc.

Acceleration...same again. I think the Superb hits 60 in around 8 seconds.

or if you look at it as which is faster superb or octy with a 2k mod budget then.... it gets interesting..

cos i think a superb on kw would get close to handling like an octy.... and weight reduction is free....

however the octy would then have 230 hp and the superb would lose purely on grunt...

but if we were to drop down the superb range to a 1.8T it would be very close.

I was talking about the fact that the Octavia RS was supposed to be the fastest production Skoda ever made, so I guess it's not anymore. When they say the FASTEST Skoda ever produced I think top speed plays a large part.

The needle goes off the clock, as in the speedo can be 360'd...

Depends if fast is in terms of top speed or acceleration. Don't think there's a lot between them though...

am pretty certain the octy is the quicker car even in std form... tyre pressures etc can change top speed by 1-2mph..

So really both are the fastest Skoda's ever made, not either one

The vRS does have the edge on acceleration according to some website or other. But then there's also cornering abilty, etc. I suspect a vRS would be able to do a faster lap on track, so would be faster...

I got very close to an indicated 150 mph on the straight a few weeks ago - either from a standing start or on a second lap. I'm sure a couple of extra mph might be squeezed out by the commited, but I like to brake with a bit of margin for error.....
