Weight of A Fabia VRS

Featured Replies

Does anyone know how much a fabia VRS weighs? I need to put the total weight of the car into a speed meter which apparently can work out the bhp.

Any help is appreciated.

According to Parkers it's 1315Kg

I remember seeing a thread with a Fabia vRS on a weigh bridge. Completly empty, 1320kg with some fuel.

Thanks for the quick responses.

Im going to use a GTECH Pro SS Performance Meter so if anyone has used one and got any tips they would be appreciated as well!

The interesting thing is that the Porsche Carrera and the fabia vRS weigh the same according to spec-1315kg.

A totally reworked Fabia vRS can reach the same torque level too - around 360lb.ft -which Jason's mongrel will probably exceed :Yikes: ... seeing as he's added in NOS and propane to this potent mix -ATMR Racing Team

I always think NOS is cheating. You should tune the engine and ditch weight.

Talking of which does anyone know of any light weight bonnets you can get? They always way a ton on Skodas. I think it is done deliberately by VAG to keep the performance figures down!

Jason's mongrel has a CF bonnet on it... clicky

I think it saves about 20Kg

How on earth it can weigh more than a Golf I have no idea!

Golf 1.9 GT TDI (130ps) 5d - 1261 kg

It weighs more because it is heavier.

Simple really:D

You need to find a public weighbridge. Don't forget to weigh yourself. Here's mine with a full tank of diesel, sunroof and leather interior:

Aha. That's the one I was referring too.

Luggage in the boot can make a suprising contribution to weight too. When I emptied the boot of my Octy 2.0TDi, it's weight on the weighbridge with half a tank of fuel (and me not in it) was 1380kg. Suprisingly close to that of a fabia vrs.

jason might be able to meet the torque figure of a porsche carrera and have similar weight but please don't think he could keep up as it just ain't gonna happen :)

Thats not bad considering that the brochure says it's 1525Kg

I know! But does the brochure weight allow for passengers and luggage etc.? Mine is quite a highly specced one so it's got a load of extra weight there, wonder how much a sparsly specced ambiente 2.0tdi would weigh?

Well it does say that weight is dependent on spec, but the Furby vRS weight is close enough so how come the Octy 2 figure is soo far out?

gowan admit it... you filled it with helium :D

Ah, but if he got in front, he'd stay there as the Porsche driver would have to slow down in the smog. ;)

I bettered that actually, I emptied it of air.:D

Seriously though, it does seem a little odd. IIRC my Fabia PD100 tipped the scales at 1230kg or somewhere thereabouts. Maybe some of my spec is missing?!

the skoda figure for a 2.0TDi elegance is 1500Kg but skoda's weight figures are with something like 3/4 of a tank, some luggage and 3 passengers so its more like when the car is actually being used rather than a a dry empty weight :)

Yeah that's what I thought, it just seems a bit odd when Bryan's Furby is showing 1320kg with full tank of fuel but nothing else. OK, so he has a sunroof (20kgs?), xenons (10kgs for the washer system, self levelling etc.?) and leather, but even so that doesn't put his that far out from book figure.

1525Kg is the kerb weight...

1995Kg is the total weight...

According to the Skoda brochure, what the difference I have no idea... :)

Did you go for the weight watchers option from the extras list? :D
