my hat goes off to you mate what a project you got any ideas of when it will be ready and what do you plan to do with it keep or sell and make something off it

Sean.

Thanks, Hoping that it will be finished sometime next year probably, im hoping sometime before summer eventually arrives! The plan is to keep it, possibly developing it as we go and finances allow. It depends on cash flow, and how much use it gets when it is done i suppose.

be a great little thing to kepp hold of mate be worth some once restored

what engines go in them as i have never seen or heard of them in my life

Just looked through the piccies and that is one hell of a project. What surprises me is that I wasn't aware of them even though I am generally regarded as a car nut and am born and bred in Sheffield. I know of the likes of Simplex and Ginetta (just down the road from me) but hadn't come across Biota.

Good luck with it all (seems to be going reasonably OK at the moment) and keep the updates coming!

Looking good - wish I could weld

Hi there,

When surfing the internet to find "new" Biota entries, I came across the Skoda forum with your update of the Biota Mk1 you are restoring.

I assume you know about the aluminium prototype that is owned by Andrew Watson as you are referrring to chassis no. 1.

What you may not know that around 1970 there was an official importer of Biota in the Netherlands and that, as far as my information goes, 5 cars were sold (all Mk1). Of those 5 cars I tracked 2 and, including mine which makes three. Furthermore I tracked another individually-imported Mk 2 in the Netherlands plus my brother-in-law bought a Mk1.5 (Mk1 suspension with Mk2 body style) from a guy who worked for a few years at the Biota "factory" in the early seventies and brought back his self-built car to the Netherlands (with lots of original documentation). Finally, I know of one Biota Mk1 in Belgium owned by Peter Morley.

Herewith my email address so that you can send me a reply and let me know what kind of information you are looking for (and I can send you some pictures): [email protected]

Regards,

Peter Niessen
