I had been following a guy in a blue vauxhall astra, he was tootling along at just under 50... Came up to the straight bit of road.... accelerated to overtake... he must of spotted the wee (not sign posted) side road that you can see ... he slammed on his brakes.. I was nearly along side him (on the right side of the road) when i saw his indicator go on.. I kinda knew at that point that i was screwed... I made the decision to try and squeeze past him... thought if i braked i would hit him full on rather than catch the front driver side of his car. It all goes kinda hazy after that hehe but i think the car slid on its passenger side(maybe even on the roof a bit, looking at the pics) and maybe even slid on the driver side. Not 100% sure but its true what they say about everything goin in slow motion. But the furby is a strong wee thing cause I walked away with not a mark on me!

Ive been trying to work out what happened after I hit the other car. But no I ended up facing the opposite direction that I was travelling!

I presume you were just coming out of the corner towards the straight and he was turning right onto the bridge?

I had actually been following the guy for about half a mile and then he decided to turn right while i was in the middle of overtaking. he only indictaed about half a sec before he decided to turn.

Well they may only state its worth

Also its his insurance paying not yours

I'm not sure it'll be that clean cut as the Fabia was on the wrong side of the road when it was not safe to be (traffic could have emerged from the side road into his path also.....). My guess is 50/50.

If you were overtaking through a junction you have to take some of the blame , and with no witnesses to prove what happened then insurance companies are just as likely to believe the other driver if he says that he was indicating and had started to turn when you went to pass him
