Good value driving days?

Featured Replies

Mrs' birthday next week.

I've always wanted to send her on a driving day where they cover good to know things like skid control, thrown in with a bit of high speed stuff, emergency avoidence etc.

However I can't seem to find anything that ticks all the boxes, you get one area along.

Does anyone know of any good courses which covers this kind of thing in the SE? Google hasn't been my friend today!

Thanks

Depends on budget, but Don Palmer and Andy Walsh will be able to show her this sort of stuff in her own car (or a hire car ;)), or you could approach one of the local circuits (Brands might be your nearest) and see how much a skid pan day is....

Chris

you could speak to the local Ch4v (assuming you have them) and send her for a drive with them.....and then say "see this is how not to drive"

or

go with the above.

A track day of any sort would be cool. send her out in a ferrari!!

Sorry can't help, but surely more knowledge and ability with parking and reversing should be top of the list for female drivers.

After all they don't really park do they........it's more abandoned than parked.

My CAR! Hell no, although she drives it, I cringe enough when she stresses the clutch. She'd relish costing me a set of tyres.

Might have to go to a track and use theirs instead.

She's not bad, but parking sensors help ;)

Just wish she'd take it easy on the clutch, and use the rear view mirror instead of only the side ones. That way she might get in the middle of a space first time!

Vauxhall are doing a series of promo days for the VXR -

Seen a few which seem interesting. Have given up on the pro driving bit, as can't seem to find the right balance of items v cost.

Option 1 - https://www.driversdreamdays.co.uk/product.asp?id=412 a 4x4 day for both of us

Option 2 - Mud and Snow for both of us.

What? Think I'm letting SWMBO have all the fun? :D

Or one of these: Skill for Life

She stands a better chance of learning useable skills & may well get a drop in insurance as well as saving on fuel & repairs caused by mechanically unsympathetic driving.

driveme.net is good.
