How did the eye test go?

Been told I'm 20/20 vision with a slight weekness in the left! confused-smiley-013.gif How the heck is that 20/20?

Anyway, my friend came out for a drive and she's noticed the distorted windscreen too. I've put my seat flat to the floor and that's made it a bit better so I'll see if I get used to it.

Thanks for all your help folks.

This may not be quite as unusual as you might at first think:I had a brand new Citroen C3 which need a new windscreen for the very same reason - It was distorted and the view out was twisted and odd.

A new windscreen sorted this however.

You would be amazed at the lack of uniformity in windscreen glass!

Ive noticed it in mine when I look out of the left hand side of the front window. Slight distorsion but not really giving me problems. However my glasses are wrong *AGAIN* thanks to Specsavers  So this will be my 5th re-eyetest and 8th pair of glasses in 3 years:rolleyes:

I wish they would get it right for a change and literally save me the headache:(

Are you getting a new windscreen as well , then?

I guess I'll see if I can live with it now I've lowered the seat down to the floor, after all, I've only had the car 2 weeks.

It's not making me a danger on the road, it's just a slight niggle I might get used to. Strangely enough, it was far better when we had all that rain last week.

Perfect vision with a slight weakness in your left.

Windsreens do vary a lot, so all above advice is good. Same with CO possibility. Another problem can be vibration/noise which can show as vibration of the eyeballs (not likely, but happens) or low frequency sounds which give a sea-sickness affect. Over 60dB noise will be "heard" through the skull bones as well as through the ear. Does having the radio on make a difference?

On a serious note about women in the front - Stay friendly with at least one as, on average, females have a different, wider range of hearing than males. Usually this shows at higher frequencies which makes them better than men at working out where that high pitched noise is coming from.

Best of luck

V
