personal mp3 players...

Featured Replies

hi all,

has anyone got one fo these? ive never used one, just wondering if they are any good? any brand recomendations etc???

I've got a Creative labs Zen Xtra. It cost

I have a small Compaq iPAQ MP3 player. It's fairly good, quality is as good as the songs you download/get off a CD. Smaller than A CD player the picture at the bopttom shows you the size (about 4cm wide 6cm height and 1.5cm depth), lighter and no mechanical parts so it can jump or skip. Plus the Compaq has 2 memory card slots and you can expand the memory to a decent size. Good devices. Sure mines no iPod with capacity but you get 2 to 3 CD's on a card. The Multimedia card is also good as it can be transferred to your cars HU if you have a slot.

I have a creative jukebox 3 20GB for sale in the for sale section.

I have a Freecom Beatman Flash.. its only got 192mb memory in total, but it weighs virtually nothing and is smaller than a box of matches... sound quality is great too, comes with seinhiser headphones.

its also very reliable... mine accidently went thru the wash, and it still works perfectly :D

I have a Sony CD-MP30 for my Fabia. It is quite good and sure value for money.

oracom 256mb player cost

Some do. You usually have to buy a cable to let you do that though.

im looking at the Philips HDD120 Jukebox, finding it hard to find out info, not sure if i can play it thru my hifi, where can you get the cables from etc??

If the system has a lineout connection rather than headphones it should be dead easy to connect to a home hifi. You could use the headphone jack, but the sound quality will be dependant on the hifi will vary depending on volume, equaliser settings etc. My old one has a lineout.:D

sorry mannyo, im new to all this, does the mp3 have to have a line out? or the hifi or both? i have no idea if the Philips HDD120 Jukebox has one, trying to find out.

Don't limit yourself Kenny.

Get a nice little Sony Net MD Walkman (eg MZ-N710, listening to it now) then you've got everything. Record normal tracks, MP3, whatever. Plus you can hook it up to your normal hi-fi. :musicears

The minidisc can only hold 80 tracks as ACC files (got one, tried it) although with the net MD it is easy to sort it out.

To plug into a Hi-fi you need a hi-fi with an aux in socket (virtually every single one on sale) or a phono socket and a cable with a headphone plug at one end and left and right audio connectors on the other. All you need to do then is connect them together in their logical places (headphone jack in the mp3 player, left and right connecters in their sockets in the back of the hi-fi). Job done.

I own both a Creative Jukebox and IRIVER IHP-120. If you are looking for something which can record and do most other things then I would recommend the IRIVER... It has optical and analogue line-in and ine-out and can take external mic or use its own internal one. They are pricier than the creative zen range but do have a fair few more features... try looking at http://www.misticriver.net/ for info... theres also a link to a compare between 4 different MP3 jukeboxes but I cant find it at the moment, will post if I manage to track it down.

I've got the I-river also and find it a great little MP3 small, neat, stylish and not too expensive with a choice of memory sizes available and line out etc. recordable and radio also senhieser phones.
