:D ... Cool. Saw a blue one yesterday, it looked race prepped, and a blue, that looked like a Ferrari colour, if that makes sense.

Very jensen interceptor-like :D

They had the Essex V6 in if i remember correctly. I nearly bought one, but went for the Capri 3.0s instead. Despite the same engine, the Scimitar was slower and was renowned for being terrible as far as electrics were concerned. Mind you, the Capri had it's own urban myths, most of which were untrue.

You got to love it. its related to the robin 3 wheeler, has a V6 and its body is fiberglass :D

Thought Reliant straight away. Classic car!

Princess Anne used to have one.

Not sure how great the car is though as a little before my time. Bit of a mongrel (sorry Jason) if I remember correctly. i.e. Jag back axle.

IIRC they made a 2.8 scimitar?

She can tell you how fast it goes as well, the local traffic police can back that up also.....:P

Snoopie

They are great cars,we had one, albeit briefly,a few years ago but you have to be totally commited to it, expect it to let you down fairly regularly and god forbid nothing electrical goes wrong(try getting an earth!)

But when it ran....it was cool:)

It was the 2.9 unit that was used , when Middlebridge took over Scimitar production.

they had one that had a 1.6 cvh engine too like the xr3i

amazing cars.. i would love to have the balls to buy one!

I love the scimitar, a seriously cool car:cool:

We've got one in bits out in the shed but unfortunately I lack the skill or the time to put it back together:(. Oh and my dad recently crushed the shell. It;s got a huge engine though that my brother and i briefly discussed putting into a go cart.

If you do get one and need some spare parts Snoopie, give me a shout...

What an amazing machine. I always remember when they were running a class for them at hearwood hillclimb one weekend, they were running in the class in front of me, and I was sat a bit futher up the hill in the que waiting, watching these guys warm up the rear tyres etc. Anyway one of them whilst "warming" started to make some strange noises, closely followed by the car pulling forward leaving a dark line behind it. It was sounding really bad by now, upon the next jump forward it became obvious that it was the exhaust. Ok fair enough something has broken, but by the time it was fully pulled out it was the entire exhaust from manifold to back box that came out. Still cant imagine how that happened.
