In-car DVD. Single din, double din?

Featured Replies

I'm thinking about getting a DVD player for my car. Does any one know about the 'din' on a vRS SE? The symphony facia looks too deep to be single din but the facia and that little pocket beneath it look like they might be the same as double din.

So will a single din replace the existing facia (doubtful I think)?

will a double din replace the existing facia and pocket beneath it?

Cheers for any advice.

The existing HU can be replaced with a single DIN and a small filler piece bought from the dealer.

Double DIN fits as well, Skoda Navigation is double DIN.

Cheers Stu. Have you seen those DVD players on ebay? 7" motorised, supposed to be all singing and dancing, for about

don't, simple as that raelly. they are cheap for a reason.

i had a JVC dvd mp3 headunit aqnd it was faultless so spend the extra for better quality, i now have an alpine touch screen dvd player(double din).

If you have an Ipod the Ipod adaptor would be the cheaper option.

I am looking at the 7" double din eBay things too, I think someone on here has one in their VRS and he had no complaints.

A friend bough a cheapo 7" screen single DIN DVD player which has gone faulty after a couple of days. The screen juts folds in and out half way until you turn it off. These things are dirt cheap because they are cheap crap

you get what you pay for and a decent headunit is essential for any car really so its worth spending that bit more money on.

Thanks all. I've decided on a JVC KD-AVX2 head unit s.giffor about

the only advantage to buying from a main shop based dealer rather than off ebay is a) you know your actually getting the thing and your moneys not just been nicked and B) you got more come back if somthing does go wrong

:iagree:

i hasd the first verson and had no issues with it at all, DVD's of mp3's will always take longer to load than CD's as they can hold around 4.7Gb instead of around 750Mb, lots more stuff to sort out.
