My brother in law is flying out to Germany from the States picking up his new BMW driving it back across Europe, taking in the Nurberg ring brining it back to the UK ready for shipping to the States.

I was wondering if anybody had gone to the Skoda assembly line to pick up their car or if it is even possible.

I have only ever picked cars up from the Stealers, would be fun to go abroad and drive one back though

He will be very disappointed when he gets to the ring, cars on temporary export plates are NOT allowed to drive on the ring. There is a long running discussion over this on the ringers list, it would appear to be a new restriction this year.

Thanks for that i better let him know he will have driven a long way buy the time he get there i dont know much about this will his car be on export plates then

The car will be supplied on temporary export plates and not UK ones. Once in the UK I believe the dealer the car was ordered through will deal with the DVLA and sort the UK plates out.

The cars final destination is the USA.
