Handy tip for faded vRS calipers...

Featured Replies

Hi all, was giving the car a good clean the other day and I decided to use a turtle wax wheel cleaner. Now I have used these products on previous motors and always the same any left on the claiper tends to fade them. I thought i was being careful but alas, no.

I thought they were a lost cause! I decided to try some of my Meguiars polish (not wax, polish removes a layer). Eureka, brings them up a treat, I only did a little, will wait for the weekend to do a proper job...

anyway to sumarise ;) if your calipers are faded try a little polish/mild tcut before resorting to hamerite :D

Cheers

wire brush? - I'm going back into my corner...

They're painted, Jason - except when, like mine, all the paint has burnt off :D

Wondering about repainting mine - but obviously green would be seen to be the colour of envy - any other suggestions? :P

Wire brush would destroy the finish ;)

I had red calipers on my white scoob, looked well, would look good on a dark colour like yours too Nick, a nice gloss black or even silver could look good too

Cheers

Have them chromed or maybe just paint them pink!!!!

(can't you tell I'm bored)
