Tyre Time Any Suggestions ...?

Featured Replies

. The comment made in an earlier post re Conti's cracking etc must have been sold a dodgy set.

no it isn't a dodgy set , various sizes are fitted to many of Henry Fords products and the same thing is seen on most days , tread cracked , thats not to say its going to fail as i've never seen one fail , but its not good to see on a so called "premium brand" of tyre made by "German engineering"

edit , and i've never seen any other make of tyre do this , unless the tyre was very old and perished or was from a spurious manufacturer

I need some too ... anyone tried the Vredestein Sportrac 2 or 3 ?

I had the Sportrac 2 on my beemer and they were pretty good all round

I suspect that RWD vs FWD makes a big difference - a tyre that is good for one can be c**p on the other.

Does the front end heaviness of the vRS make any odds ?

I bought 4 x Vredestein Sportrac 3 tyres last month at GTI international, and they're great.

Loads of grip,wet or dry.

Quieter than the Toyos fitted previously.

Anyone tried Falken ZE512's? Got given an awesome price (IMO) on them...

Never tried them myself.. but they're know to be of the best tires and cheap at the same time.. i was going to get them and then the next day Fk452s were available... wouldnt suggest getting them now as they're too old imo.. you can get the newer Generation of the same series "Falken Ziex ZE-912"

otherwise go for Falken FK452

And thats fine, all I am saying is I have now gone through two complete sets of ContiSports (the first set on another car) and they have never let me down yet, certainly no cracking.

I like them, they work for me:thumbup:
